CW, you can basically add "Life UnExpected" to this list. its seen as highly unlikely that show will return in any form.
FOX, Running Wilde is also considered cancelled as of last week. The network has opted to not order any more episodes; it will not return.
Tubehead 11-22-2010, 02:54 AM im going to miss smallville.
TV Knowledge Fan 11-22-2010, 03:36 AM ...that 'SMALLVILLE" would end after this season, so that's no surprise. For those who've heard that Jo Frost desparately wants to take time off to find a mate and create her own family, "SUPERNANNY"'s demise is also obvious. "MY GENERATION" was doomed when CBS moved "THE BIG BANG THEORY" to Thursdays; it was just a matter of how long it would stay on the air...I was surprised when it was yanked off after only two weeks! Obviously, more viewers prefer NBC's "LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES" to ABC's "THE WHOLE TRUTH" {cease and desist, Jerry Bruckheimer!!}, so that's gone. "RUNNING WILDE", I'm not surprised: that's the second Mitchell Hurwitz series to bite the dust within a year ["SIT DOWN, SHUT UP" was the other one]...why doesn't he realize that a little "commercial appeal" is needed before you can be as "quirky" as you want to be? I'd hoped "MEDIUM" would have hung around for the remainder of the season, but the fact it survived this long after NBC cancelled it last year is nothing short of a miracle....

treky 11-22-2010, 11:30 AM isn't this also the final season for "TWO AND A HALF MEN"? I think I read that somewhere.

Nope. That show was renewed for like 3 years.
comedyfreak 11-24-2010, 05:17 AM im going to miss smallville.
So will I.
benjamoon 11-24-2010, 11:24 AM FOX, Running Wilde is also considered cancelled as of last week. The network has opted to not order any more episodes; it will not return.
While "Running Wilde" and "The Good Guys" are HIGHLY unlikely to ever make new episodes after the current order, neither has been officially cancelled

Well FOX has all but cancelled both of these. RW has had their back nine not picked up. That basically means it won't return. BUT i see your point.
comedyfreak 11-25-2010, 11:06 AM I like The Good Guys, it's one of the best Friday night shows.
Du Mont 11-25-2010, 04:11 PM 'The Good Guys' is not yet cancelled. FOX will finish airing the 20-episode first season order in December, and then the series is going to move over to Saturday nights from 11pm-midnight to encore all 20 episodes.
Given the fact that FOX still promotes the series (and promoted it very heavily throughout the 'MLB Playoffs' and 'World Series'), I don't think they've given up on it yet. Based on how well the series does in Saturday night encores (and last summer, its encore numbers were pretty close to its original numbers), I think FOX will decide whether it wants to order up more episodes for another summer run (I've all but given up seeing it on their fall sked next season).
Jerryt 11-26-2010, 10:20 AM I hope because i love the show but dont have anytime to watch it on Fridays
James28 12-07-2010, 09:46 PM Episode order was cut for Chase by four, so this may go the way of the 1973 series.
And the FOX network has decided not to order additional episodes of Lie To Me.
James28 01-17-2011, 04:05 PM Looks like FOX's Human Target is next on the future endeavors list after constant schedule changes have plagued it this month.

I don't know if I would call one schedule change due to President Obama's speech "constant" but it is on the endangered list. I think out of Fringe, Lie to Me, and Human Target, FOX will hold on to one as a midseason show next year
browneyes106 01-18-2011, 08:29 AM I will miss Smallville too. It did last a little too long.
Lone Star should have been on a cable network instead of FOX.
James28 01-24-2011, 02:43 AM Medium has been officially released from its contract as of last Friday, when the series finale aired. And it'll be a matter of time before that ratings behemoth known as American Idol starts burying the good TV shows on the original three networks and becomes the #1 rated show on network television for the 7th consecutive year. The aforementioned shows are going to end up on the Future Endeavors list all because of AI. I hope NCIS does not get buried soon. I thought that program was named "American Idol", not "American Burier-Of-The-Shows-On-The-Original-Three-Networks". The only program that needs to be buried in the ratings is FOX's American Idol, it's just plain terrible.

The other shows are going to be fine. NCIS doesn't even air against Idol this year so it will be fine too, but the shows that do held up well in their first week vs. Idol and that should only get better as Idol slides a bit like it does every year. Idol will still win the time period but it's not going to smother other shows
James28 01-24-2011, 07:33 PM I also hope American Idol is going to bury NBC's The Office and force it into cancellation. But American Idol itself needs to be buried.
(bury-decline in ratings)

Seeing as it isn't even on during the same time, I don't see that happening
James28 01-25-2011, 02:39 AM What does air on the same time as Idol?
James28 03-01-2011, 09:25 PM Looks like NBC's The Cape is possibly going to be released from its contract. Last month, the network cut its episode order from 13 to 10 episodes.
Retro4Life 03-01-2011, 10:04 PM ^ Yep, I watched the first few eps and the Cape and thought it had potential, but once I heard this I stopped, since I know now they will never bring closure to the plot.
They just don't allow shows any time at all to build an audience anymore. I mean, seriously, putting a new show up against "The Bachelor" (horrid show but great ratings)? That's not very fair, IMHO.
BTW, for those who want to follow which shows are in danger of being cancelled, here's a neat link....

ekkostar 03-04-2011, 02:22 PM I'm sort of surprised that American Dad got renewed, considering the awful treatment that FOX is giving it lately. I thought for sure it was going to be done by the end of the season. Not that I'm complaining because the show is closely reaching shark waters.

I feel the same way. AD had a rotten start, quality wise, but then recovered and had a handful of good years, but honestly I never did like any of the characters much and it's kind of duplicated by FG and the Cleveland show, both of which I enjoy more.
jehobden 03-07-2011, 08:30 PM isn't this also the final season for "TWO AND A HALF MEN"? I think I read that somewhere.
It might be now, considering Charlie Sheen's recent meltdown.
James28 03-08-2011, 01:42 AM There are lots of shows on the Kettledrum Network, but they can't all survive. If I ran the network, I wouldn't be sure of what to have released from their contract or have renewed for next season. Here are the list if shows that the network currently has:
$#*! My Dad Says
48 Hours
60 Minutes
The Amazing Race
The Big Bang theory
Blue Bloods
Chaos
Criminal Minds
Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior
CSI Miami
CSI Las Vegas
CSI NY
The Defenders
The Good Wife
Hawaii Five-0
How I Met Your Mother
Live to Dance
Mad Love
The Mentalist
NCIS
NCIS: Los Angeles
Rules of Engagement
Survivor
Two and a Half Men (if someone is found to replace Charlie Sheen)
Undercover Boss
I would cancel The Defenders (CBS already had a series by that name in the early 60s) and Beep My Dad Says.
oh wow american dead is renewed, i am sure that this will do a great bussiness this time
James28 04-24-2011, 11:47 PM The shows that are almost certain to be released from their contracts following this season are:
America's Next Great Restaurant (NBC)
The Cape (NBC)
Chaos (CBS)
Chase (NBC)
Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior (CBS)
The Defenders (CBS)
Detroit 1-8-7 (ABC)
The Event (NBC)
Human Target (Fox)
Live to Dance (CBS)
Mr. Sunshine (ABC)
No Ordinary Family (ABC)
Off the Map (ABC)
Perfect Couples (NBC)
Shedding For the Wedding (The CW)
V (ABC)
Could be a reason why NBC is regarded as "The Flop Network".
And the following shows should end following the next season in 2011-12:
Chuck (NBC) - Major speculation at the end of every season. Future Endeavor the show already!
One Tree Hill (CW) - One of the last remaining CW shows that premiered on the WB (Supernatural is the other, ANTM premiered on UPN).
Rules of Engagement (CBS) - Had its first chance of a full 22-episode season this season after having to come back at midseason for three of its first four seasons (the second season had its episode order cut down due to a writers strike), renew it for a couple more, and that's probably the end of it.
Two and a Half Men (CBS) - Don't want to swear here, but they need to find a frakkin' replacement for Charlie Sheen and it'll be ready to go for next season (its last, probably?).
House (FOX) - Two Olympiads (the 28th and 29th) is probably enough for this medical drama.
James28 05-11-2011, 03:00 PM Five television series from the Fox broadcasting Company have been future endeavored:
Human Target
Breaking In
The Chicago Code
Lie to Me
Traffic Light
I'll miss Human Target & Breaking In. They were pretty good shows but I suppose they didn't do well in the ratings.
James28 05-14-2011, 05:16 PM Terrible news: the ABC drama Brothers & Sisters was released from its contract after five seasons, violating the Proper TV Series Endings Act.
Also, several other TV series were future endeavored as well:
The Ev3nt
Outsourced
Law & Order:LA
V
Off The Map
Better With You
Mr. Sunshine
No Ordinary Family
