"Price Is Right" host Drew Carey has a deal with GSN to host a primetime weekday show for the network, reports the Hollywood Reporter's The Live Feed blog.

The network has made a 40-episode commitment to the show, which will be a half-hour of unscripted sketch comedy, the article notes. The show will be taped at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and debut in the spring.

I like sketch comedy. Especially if it's unscripted (Improv). But it seems a show like that would be kind of out of place on GSN a network that was created to showcase Game Shows. Then again I guess anything goes these days when most cable networks are copies of each other that you can't tell apart!

GSN did a similar comedy game show called "Funny Money." It wasn't exactly a ratings blockbuster. But Drew Carey is a name and might draw people to watch out of curiosity, if anything else.

why not just revive "Whose Line Is it Anyway?" ?
