Former NHL head coach Pat Burns lost his battle with cancer today at the age of 58. Burns coached the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, and New Jersey Devils. He won his lone Stanley Cup championship as coach of the New Jersey Devils. He was named NHL coach of the year three times. He fought off cancer on two previous occasions. The third time cancer attacked his lungs. Despite a valiant fight it was a battle he could not win. Pat, your battle is now over. May you rest in peace.

RIP Pat.

I follow hockey, however I'm not sure it's a good idea to put anything hockey related on these boards. Anything related to hockey gets so few replies on SO that it will make this story seem trivial. This thread will soon be pushed to the bottom, while a jerk like Lebron James will gets mulipled threads.

Hockey threads have just as much right here as any other sport. Don't worry about whether or not they get enough replies, The Pat Burns thread currently has 14 page views so at least there's some interest.
