Apparently his fancy footwork in Tuesday's episode of "Glee" hit all the right notes.
The day after his "Make 'Em Laugh" dance number alongside Matthew Morrison comes news that Harry Shum Jr. will be promoted to series regular next season, E! News reports.
Shum has recurred as New Directions member Mike Chang (also known as "Other Asian") since last year. Fellow background players Heather Morris and Naya Rivera received similar bumps at the beginning of this season.
Shum, 28, is a dancer and choreographer for the Legion of Extraordinary Dancers, a web series about dueling dance groups. This past year, the Legion of Extraordinary Dancers performed at the Academy Awards and opened for the "Glee" tour.
Shum has also appeared in Step Up 3D.
Before his big promotion, Shum will be able to put his dancing skills to good use in "Glee's" upcoming Super Bowl episode. The series will tackle Michael Jackson's "Thriller" for the supersized episode airing Feb. 6, Entertainment Weekly reports.
