View Full Version : Edna's Edibles signage
JYuhas 11-06-2010, 12:19 PM Does anybody know in which season episode was the exterior of Edna's Edibles featured? I know it was featured in at least one episode. I remember it was at the end of the episode, right before the closing credits. The episode had ended, and the exterior was shown. Does anybody have a high-quality picture of this or the Edna's Edible's sign?
Also, does anybody have any good close-up shots and/or pictures of the Edna's Specials chalkboard or the Edna's Edibles sign that was recovered/salvaged from the Edna's Edibles fire? It was damaged from the fire. It was broke, and read "Ed's Edibles." Mrs. Garrett had it fixed/repaired and used it in Over Our Heads, to sell her cookies. Does anybody have any high-quality pictures of these?
The only reason why I am asking is because I know somebody who takes special requests for customs signs.
Jude The Obscure 11-06-2010, 09:27 PM The shots of the exterior occurs in season 6, near the end when the show started using transitional music to close an episode rather than that annoyingly fake audience clapping. I think around the episode where Mrs G hires Andy.

Oh, okay. Cool. Thanks, Jude! I knew it had to either be Season Five or Season Six. I just finished watching The Complete Sixth Season, and it wasn't on there. Do you know if it was just featured in only one episode, or was it more than one? Like, multiple episodes? And, if it was shown more than once, was it always the same angle and/or view?

The picture is there in the gallery. It is from the ending of an episode in season 6. Maybe With A Little Help from my friends, or It's lonely at the top.

I remember the music in the Andy episode too. Very nice!

Thank you. I found the picture. I'll wait until The Complete Sixth Season is available on DVD.
If I'm not mistaken, wasn't there also Edna's Edibles signage in the kitchen? It was either like a fridge magnet, key hook, spice rack, or just a picture. Either way, I remember it had the Edna's Edibles logo. I can't wait until The Complete Sixth Season comes out on DVD. I'm looking forward to its release.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, wasn't this the first season in which we see the Edna's Edbiles kitchen? I'm not sure if it was the first time, but I remember it in the "Pizza" episode, and the Edna's Edible's signage was there.
I remember that the kitchen was shown in the Over Our Heads years, but wasn't the same as the Edna's Edibles years. It was different. At least, it did to me. It looked bigger, and had a set of stairs. I'm not sure if it was a continuity error, or if they had to rebuild it, due to the fire. But, if my memory serves me correctly, the Edna's Edibles sign was still in there.

Well, I'm sure when they remodeled Edna's Edibles into Over Our Heads, they had a set of stairs built for easier access to the kitchen, so the girls and Mrs. G wouldn't have to come down the main stairs and go around back. And since it was no longer a bakery, the big oven was no longer neccasary, which is probably why it looks bigger. And yes, the sign was there, only because Edna liked it.
folbartman 11-09-2010, 02:00 AM Really, Was there really an Edna's Edibles sign in the kitchen in Season Seven to Nine --- I only know about the sign being in the shop cause Mrs. Garrett said it brought her luck. I never noticed an edna's edibles sign in the kitchen before Following season 6.

I think there was an Edna's Edible's sign in the kitchen, in Seasons Seven to Nine. I could be wrong, though. I think it was something like a fridge magnet or key hook rack. It was either on the wall or the fridge. If my memory serves me correctly, it was the same one that was seen in the kitchen in the "Pizza" episode from Season Six. I think you can also see it in the opening credits, when the girls are making pizza in the kitchen.

If it was in the kitchen, it probably would have been lost in the fire.
Schmoopie 06-26-2019, 05:06 AM Sorry for bringing up an old thread but I found this while browsing. I love Edna's Edibles and every time I watch the show an they talk about the food and so forth, I get a little hungry! I wish it was a real place! I just finished Season 5 so I'm looking foreword to seeing when and if they show the exterior b/c I've always been curious about it.

They do show the exterior in late season 6! But never again after that.

And it looks...odd.
Odd because it doesn't fit with the architecture of the building, or how you would picture it, either.

I remember!
"Sunriiiiiiiiiise, sunset..." lol
Schmoopie 06-28-2019, 04:01 AM I just watched an episode of Season 6 where they showed the exterior and it wasn't at all what I imagined it to be.

Yeah, I think most fans would agree on that, lol.
RetroGuy2000 07-04-2019, 12:41 AM I agree it looks odd. Doesn't match what we see on the inside, at all. We should at least see some of the white trim! The inside looks like brown stone, but the outside is a white wooden building that would be more at home in Cabot Cove, Maine?!
Perhaps if they had used that exterior from the beginning of the EE episodes, it would have somehow overridden our collective BS meters. But because it doesn't match and it's rarely seen, it feels incredibly out of place.

The porch... and the dormers. We don't see any dormers inside, so why are they on the outside?
