One for the first season(1964-1965) and a totally different one for the second(1965-1966)season?I liked the first one better.Anyone agree or disagree?Feel free to post.

Not sure why it was changed but I'm glad it was. I'll take the second season opening anyday, I never cared for the first.

It wasn't unusual back then for TV shows to do a new opening for each season. Leave it to Beaver, for example, had a different opening for each of it's six seasons.

I like the second one best.

As for me,I liked the second opening from first season,where the staircase opens,and Herman emerges,and it says "Starring Fred Gwynne as Herman" at the beginning,then Lily,smiling ,hands Herman his briefcase ,smiles,and greets Grandpa,Marilyn and Eddie,and then waves goodbye,still smiling.The first version of the first opening I do NOT care for.The first version is too darned ominous.

Actually, there were 3 openings. The first season (first version) with Beverly Owen, the first season (second version) with Pat Priest, and the second season opening.

The two pilots, one with Joan Marshall and then one with Yvonne DeCarlo, also had different intros.
I liked the ominous nature of the first intro. It was in keeping with the Frankenstein and Dracula movies.
