David Cassidy is adamant that he was NOT hammered on booze when he got behind the wheel in Florida last night ... and says he plans to fight the DUI charges tooth and nail.



David's rep, Jo-Ann Geffen, tells TMZ ... the former teen idol admits he did take a pain pill for his back earlier in the day -- and may have been tired from an early morning funeral he had to attend -- but he definitely wasn't drunk.

Cassidy is also disputing the results of the two breathalyzer tests he took at the time of arrest -- insisting his true blood alcohol content was not properly measured.

Cassidy's rep tells us the actor is already on the hunt for a lawyer and plans to fight the charges adding, "He would never jeopardize anyone on the road and he would not have been driving had he not had to go to a funeral ... he's never been arrested in his life before for anything."

HE has such a smug look in that mug shot. David thinks he is going to fight this. Three test showed him 2 x over the limit. Then he had an empty container in the car.

Taking responsibility has never been one of David's strengths. But in this case with the evidence stacked against him he should man up and take responsibility for his own actions. I'm not holding my breath though. :rolleyes:

I am also a member of FINDADEATH.com and I have the details of Jack's death.
Jack was at a Xmas party with Nanette Fabray.
Jack stop somewhere else and had a drink.
Jack actually did the politcally correct thing at the time.
HE left his car with a friend and walked home.
JaCK did not get a DUI.
Jack's alcohol level was .12 when the legal limit was .10.

David exaggerated all this in his books in movies.
In the movie he showed JAck surrounded by bottles and pasting out.
There was no alcohol at the scene.
Scott changed his directory somewhat.
HE took out the part about being bitter about the Ted Baxter role with he talk with Cloris Leachman.
JAck also did leave Shirley a $50,000 insurance policy so he took that out.

Thing is with David is that people look the other away, even the cops, for years because they want him to be KEith.

IT was kind of funny because Shaun had a rare appearance on OPRAH and it went well. HE sang and talked about the positive influence of his parents and family. The went to a break for upcoming news and there was David's mug shot.

David actually called up Danny to try to figure out how he could cover this up.

I really enjoy those three albums David made for RCA in the 1970's. All three are good, but I think Gettin It In The Street is the best one.

Last year him and his brothers were on ABC FAMILY with a show called Ruby and the ROCKETS. IT FLOPPED after 10 episodes.
He is currently suppose to be on Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump.

David is supposedly difficult to work with and he has gotten banned from some places. If you look at the thread "BOYCOTT THIS JERK", David had a breakdown at an autograph show.

That have a publicist that goes around making excuses for David.

Anyway it was suppose to be SHAUN's day yesterday on OPRAH. Funny how they cut to the new updates and they had David's mug shot.

All the previews and teases were better than the actual video. Usually when people, including Danny, hear about the Partridge Family and jail, their minds immediately jump to Danny.

At first Cassidy seems fine, but it’s when the officer asks him to put the bottle of bourbon down and then the following discussion about eye surgeries. That’s what Danny woke up to today. Cassidy sounded a little indignant, but he didn’t seem to be fall down drunk.

David Cassidy did not show up in court but a lawyer who represents him pleaded 'NOT GUILTY'.

On Nov. 3, Florida Highway Patrol troopers spotted Cassidy's painted schoolbus Mercedes meandering in and out of lanes and pulled him over. Suspecting alcohol, officers administered a field sobriety test, which he flunked. After blowing a 0.139 and 0.141 on a Breathalyzer, well above the state's legal limit, the singer was taken into custody and dried out that evening in St. Lucie jail before being released on $350 bail.

According to the police report, Cassidy admitted during the bust that he was tired and had taken a hydrocodone tablet earlier that afternoon. Cops also discovered a half-empty bottle of bourbon in his vehicle.

The Teen Beat cover boy's counsel could not be reached for comment.

If convicted, Cassidy, who resides in Ft. Lauderdale, could face a maximum six months in the slammer and a $1,000 fine

FORT PIERCE — Former teen heartthrob David Cassidy was sentenced to a year of probation and had his driving privileges suspended for six months after a no-contest plea was entered for him Wednesday in a DUI case stemming from his arrest Nov. 3 on Florida's Turnpike.

Cassidy did not appear at the hearing before County Judge Cliff Barnes, who said last month that the star of the 1970s TV show "The Partridge Family" would be allowed to skip his change-of-plea and sentencing hearing "just like everyone else charged with a misdemeanor and with no prior record," and have the plea entered by his attorney

It seems he got off with a fairly light sentence. In our state you generally have to serve some jail time for DUI. But they usually let you serve it on weekends if you have a steady job.

David gave an interview to the England press. Again he throws his father, Jack Cassidy, under the Partridge Family Bus for the sake of his ego.
Again he exploits the death of the teenager who died at one of his concerts in the 70's.

More interesting, he now has an explanation for how the bottle of booze got in the back seat.
