Season Five finds Mrs. Garrett (Charlotte Rae) opening her own gourmet shop, Ednas Edibles, with some help from the girls.

Meanwhile Blair (Lisa Whelchel) pledges a sorority, Tootie (Kim Fields) gets into an intense battle with her mother, Natalie (Mindy Cohn) experiences an unexpected death in the family, and Jo (Nancy McKeon) starts dating a rich kid!
