Was a second season gem, well written by Sidney Sheldon and well-directed by Hal Cooper, dealt with Major Healy (not Tony)and although not as good as the classic first season black and white episode "The Richest Astronaut in the Whole Wide World",was good, nevertheless. It was funny when Jeannie blinked and all the women who fell in love with Roger, and then fell out of love with him,and the ending was very funny, when all the dogs fell in love with him when he went to Tony's.It's also one of the very rare times we see Tony and Jeannie laugh. And it was (I think)the first time we ever saw Mrs.Bellows(she was not referred by Dr.Bellows as Amanda, and he as Alfred-What was the first episode we knew Mrs.Bellows first name was Amanda?Score:8.0/good

...mentions his wife [or that he is married- the 1966 Pocket Books paperback novel presents him as a bachelor because the author was using a description of the characters before December 1965, and he never saw ONE EPISODE...and the better for "Alfie" to fall in love with Jeannie's mother, "Mrs. Fatima Najaar", in the story's plot] is in the episode "What House Across the Street?" [12/18/65], but he doesn't mention her first name until this episode. Sidney decided to explore the good doctor's homelife a bit, introducing Amanda. Apparently, Emmaline Henry was only going to appear once as Mrs. Bellows, but because she and Hayden worked so well together, Sidney began featuring her in several more episodes until she became a "semi-regular". My favorite scene between them is the one where Jeannie causes a fight to break out between them at the end of "The Indispensible Jeannie" [11/25/68]:
BELLOWS: "Amanda, this martini tastes terrible!"
AMANDA: "But I've always fixed it for you that way."
BELOWS: "Yes, and they've always been terrible!"
AMANDA: "...I'll go fix you another one....no, I won't, either. You don't like the martini? You go fix it yourself!"
BELLOWS: (raising his voice) "When a man comes home from a hard day's work....he deserves a decent martini!!"
AMANDA: (shouting) "Don't shout at me, Alfred!!"
BELLOWS: (louder) "I'll SHOUT if I want to!!!"
AMANDA: *whimpering*
