Recruiting Steve Harvey as host and moving production to Orlando has paid off for the producers of “Family Feud.”

Nationally, the game show’s household ratings have jumped 40 percent from the same time a year ago, reports the Orlando Sentinel.

“From the very first show we taped in Orlando, I knew Steve Harvey was going to turn this show on its head,” said executive producer Gaby Johnston. “I was sitting in the audience, and people of all ages were laughing nonstop. I knew then we had a hit, and the ratings are verifying that. Every week we go up in all demos, particularly women. I’m thrilled.”

Nah,Richard Dawson was the best host for Family Feud.Since I don't view the show anymore I don't even know who this Harvey character is ,aside from the picture posted. However I think the previous host O'herlihy or whatever his name is was quite good,at least from the few times I viewed it.Matter of fact the ratings may have gone up if they changed the types of familys that were on the show a year ago.Anyone who has seen the show would know what I mean, and I'll leave it at that.

A local station in Omaha, that USED to carry it,doesn't anymore,in favor of paid programming(why,I don't know).John 0'Hurley was a real good host, and I'm not that crazy about Steve Harvey, either(I WASN'T impressed with his stint as substitute host on the daytime version of "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire) .Why did they make the changes?Haven't the producers learned the meaning of the old saying "If it ain't broke(and it wasn't,in my opinion,it was fun)don't fix it?"

I've watched a few episodes with Steve Harvey and I wouldn't say he has surpassed Richard Dawson. He is still a work in progress in that he is still learning the job. But he is progressing fairly quickly and may eventually be worthy of comparison to Richard Dawson.

My favorite host is still Richard Karn and I never really liked John O'Hurley. I remember a few of the Louie Anderson years, but before that its a bit blurry. :p

To me, Richard Dawson IS Family Feud - but I'm happy that Steve Harvey is doing well as the new host.

The producers had nothing to do with John O' Hurley leaving the Family Feud. He left on his own terms to do other projects...
