'80s icon Jean-Claude Van Damme reportedly suffered a heart attack on the set of his latest movie, 'Weapon,' TwitchFilm.net is reporting. Reports of the heart attack, which has been described as minor, come just one day after his 50th birthday.

When contacted by MTV News for a status on his recovery, his reps gave a quick response: "He is okay."

'Weapon' had been shooting in Romania until last week when production was scheduled to move to New Orleans for three days of filming. Soon after arriving, complications arose and filming was put on hold. It's since been revealed that the complication was Van Damme's heart attack.

The action star was admitted to a New Orleans hospital where his wife, Gladys Portugues, joined him. Once released, the couple flew back to his home country of Belgium where he is expected to make a full recovery.

I'm glad it was minor. He can consider this a huge wake-up call and make the necessary changes; be it lifestyle, surgery or to keep a close eye on the problem. In a sense, he was lucky. Half of the people who have their first heart attacks die.

I hope it is a wake-up call for him. Janice is right that so many don't survive the first attack. My grandfather didn't. He had a massive heart attack in his sleep at the age of 58 back in 1974. He died before I was born and I so would've loved to know him. But getting back to Mr. Van Damme, God bless and grant him full recovery!!
