Three freshman NBC series are getting full-season orders: The Event, Law & Order: Los Angeles and Outsourced are all getting nine more episodes.

The pickups are all shows produced by Universal Media Studios and represent NBC's first round of full-season orders.

"We are pleased with the quality of The Event, Law & Order: Los Angeles and Outsourced, and feel they are an important part of helping to re-build our schedule and our studio pipeline,” said Angela Bromstad, NBC's entertainment president . “We believe in these new series and the creative auspices behind them.”

NBC has not made a verdict for the Warner-Bros.-produced Chuck, Chase and Undercovers. There are rumors of six Undercovers scripts being ordered and a potential back nine for Chase.

In the ratings, none of the shows have popped much in recent weeks. The Event has averaged a 3.0 rating and 9.1 million viewers using the most current ratings date including DVR viewership. LOLA has generated a 2.5 rating and 8.7 million viewers. Outsourced has averaged a 3.0 rating and 6.3 million viewers.

The news does mean, however, that Event fans will have a stronger chance of finding out what "The Event" actually is -- sources say its reveal is planned for near the end of the first season

...the broadcast networks tend to stick by their "in-house" produced series, and are more inclined to keep them on the air, than those from "outside" or "indepedent" producers {and they're quite rare these says, thanks to the repeal of financial/syndication rules over 15 years ago, which allow the networks- and the conglomerates who own them- to produce AND own their own programming, enabling them to make BIG MONEY on certain shows through syndication, cable and DVD release}. Naturally, NBC/Universal's new series are renewed for a full season, provided they do find their audience, while other studios' efforts are "iffy"....you wanna bet "CHASE" and "UNDERCOVERS" will be jettisoned soon, in favor of more of NBC/Universal's "product"? And that this is "CHUCK"'s final season?

Here's a typical example: "MEDIUM", a Glenn Gordon Caron/Kelsey Grammer/Paramount Television series, was ordered by NBC as a mid-season replacement in January 2005. It was successful enough to stay on for four seasons {usually starting their new season in mid-season, either as an "afterthought", or "filler" when one of the network's new series collapsed}...until Paramount Television became "CBS Studios". Then, NBC decided the ratings weren't sufficient enough to keep it on for another season. Naturally, CBS decided they were, and moved it to their own network, where it's doing quite well....perpetuating their own "inventory" in order to earn a big payday, off-network.

I think Law and Order Los Angeles isn't gonna last long because it's boring LOL. I've seen a couple of episodes and i don't like it. Terrence Howard should be working on movies instead of wasting his time with this show. Did black actress Regina Hall who's a lawyer on here get replaced already? I didn't see her on this week's episode because i saw a white woman lawyer.
