Cherie Johnson was one of Punky Brewster’s best friends and her character happened to be modeled and named after her. Cherie also played Maxine Johnson on “Family Matters,” which ended a decade later. Since then, Cherie’s been acting and producing occasionally and just signed on as the “Take Time to Read” campaign’s national spokesperson. Cherie also has a seven-book deal; the first one published was called Around The World Twice
