Under my 'Sounds You Hate?" thread, I mentioned hating the Emergency Broadacasting System's "ooooooo" sound,(when the screen would turn all blue) and their "eh, eh, eh," sounds.(when they would air tornado watches OVER the actors and make an "eh, eh, eh," sound.) I decided to make a thread dedicated to those.

Remember the spooky voice saying something like, "This was a test of the Emergency Broadcasting system. If there were an actual emergency, the sound you heard would have been followed by an announcement warning of immediate emergency. And "rainbow lines", anyone remember when TV would show vertical rainbow lines? Looked pretty, but so boring at the same time. There would be a "ooooo" sound to them too. I remember in 1989 seeing those rainbow lines. This happened in the 80's, when I also remember in the 90's, when the TV would have "snow", because the screen would just have something that looked like snow when the TV programs signed off for the night, about 12 AM-6 AM. Actually, I STILL see this when I turn my channel to channel 5 , by pressing my TV channel buttons, not using the direct TV remote. :crazy: The "rainbow lines" also appeared when TV used to be cut off for the night, once again, about 12AM-6AM....
