Provided you weren't a Cablevision subscriber, you may have noticed the familiar NFL on Fox theme music was played throughout Game 1 of the National League Championship Series. It caused confusion among fans because MLB on Fox had its own theme, but it has now gone by the wayside. I asked Lily Rosales of Fox Sports Public Relations why we were hearing the NFL theme and she replied that it's now the official theme of the division, which means it will be heard on all Fox Sports properties, MLB, NASCAR and of course, the NFL.
There was no announcement of this coming so it was a surprise to fans who are used to hearing Fox's MLB music. So we won't be hearing this theme any more.
