Written by James Allardice and Tom Adair, and directed by E.W.Swackhamer,was one of the best episodes from the black and white season one(others good ones,,from season one were "My Hero?",and "I'll Never forget What's Her Name","The Permanent House Guest",and"The Richest Astronaut in the Whole Wide World")And yes, that WAS Jamie Farr as that Arabian con artist in Mecca.

And the ending, where Jeannie and Tony went out to dinner in that horse-driven carriage(at first Tony sighed ,but happily went along with it)was nice and romantic.A great episode.

And,it's too bad James Allardice and Tom Adair didn't do any more scripts for "I Dream of Jeannie",because their script captured the magic of the late Sidney Sheldon's scripts.

And ,with the full-screen closing credits and the lovely closing theme for first season-(on the WGN version, but not on the TVLand version)made it all the more romantic.

...Foster Brooks was the cultured "Englishman" in the crowd, as well. He generally portrayed two kinds of characters: the sophisticated "gentleman"...and his legacy, "The Drunk".
James Allardice [who wrote all of Alfred Hitchcock's monologues for his weekly anthology series, from 1955 through '65] and his partner Tom Adair wrote for several major situation comedies in the early '60s...and probably would have written more for "I DREAM OF JEANNIE", but Allardice died of a heart attack in February 1966, at age 46.
