This was a very weird, and in spots, funny episode.By that,I mean that Jeannie's magic (I presume from the way she blinked and the sound it made ,which usually meant her magic had gone haywire)had gone haywire. It was weird and a bit gruesome when she trapped Roger briefly behind a wall of fire for not telling her what had happned to Tony.(She released him, however,so don't worry)And it was weird and very bizarre as well as somewhat funny when she gave Tony X-ray vision,so he -and only he--could see Dr.Bellows in his underwear (with T-shirt and shorts),and a female lieutenant clad only in a bikini, and the ability to see through walls. And it was REALLY funny when it showed the skeletons of Roger and Jeannie.LOL.All in all,a very weird episode.

....which again proves how stubborn Jeannie could be in order to give her "Master" what she thinks he needs, whether he wants it or not...and how angry she could get at Roger if he didn't tell her what Tony was hiding from her {"HE HAS BAD EYES!! HE HAS BAD EYES!!!!"} (wait'll you see what she does to him in "Who Needs A Green-Eyed Genie?", 'rrezny'). The female lieutenant couldn't have worn a bikini, because NBC wouldn't allow Barbara Eden- or any woman- to show their navel on TV at the time. What she was wearing was commonly known as "lingerie"...and of course, Jeannie's jealousy towards other females is evident when she tells Roger it wouldn't be so bad if Tony remained virtually sightless- "This way, he cannot look at other girls". And then, of course, the entire experience gives Dr. Bellows one more thing to fret about when trying to convince someone else about Major Nelson's weird activities- as he tells a fellow psychaitrist [a disguised Tony] in "My Double-Crossing Master" two years later (also written by Sidney, under one of his aliases), "He can see through walls....".
I believe that, where her emotions are strongly involved towards "Master", Jeannie's magic goes "off-kilter" at times [which is why she had trouble trying to restore Tony's vision to normal]....and that's why it took even longer to restore his hearing after the end of the story...
JEANNIE: (whispering) master?
TONY: (screaming) AUUGGHHHH!!! NOT SO LOUD!!!!!
JEANNIE: (softly) Oh, dear...this is going to take longer than I thought!
TONY: (in agony) Stop screaming, will you????

And although the episode aired on WGN two weeks ago,it was aired this morning on TVLand this morning, and ,as usual,TVLand shortened it.The final scene was edited from 5 minutes to 3.In short,WGN's vedrsion was FAR superior to TVLand's version.
