The were both very friendly and down to earth. I wish I could have bought one of the shiny bottles they were selling they ranged from $129-$199. They even had a bottle with the couch and Jeannie inside looking up at you for $499. Hopefully Larry will attend a future show so he can sign the photo I bought with the three of them and Barbara is holding the bottle.

Oh, that is wonderful!
Yes, they always seemed extremely nice and down-to-earth.
Yes, it's a shame Larry couldn't be there with them. But what a great memory of meeting "Jeannie" and "Roger"! ;)

And have a piece of that with you, now. :)

Glad you had a good time and THANKS for sharing your photos!

Awesome pics! Barbara really hasn't aged much since I met her 8 1/2 years ago.

I told Barbara that she would make an excellent addition to Desparate Housewives and that she would fit in great on Wisteria Lane. She really didn't say anything about it one way or other so who knows. I also let her know that I loved her appearance on The George Lopez Show. Her line was very long but no one minded the wait.

Great pictures and glad they were friendly. Thanks for sharing and I hope you had a wonderful time meeting them. I hope to get to meet them someday. Especially Bill, but wouldn't mind meeting Barbara. I do watch "The George Lopez Show" and also liked her appearance as well as her appearance as Irma on "Sabrina The Teenage Witch" She is a great actress. Bill's an awesome actor/comedian. Nice to hear that they were both nice though which I hope to meet them someday.

It seems you were there on the same day - - or by the outfits the two were wearing, anyway. It's fun to meet them, right? Where were you in the line? (i.e. what time?)

I've got a whole report on our website, along with a mess of photos.

I got into her line at 12:40 then she took a lunch break at 12:45. I got back into line when she returned around 1:40pm. Nice pics on the website, I didn't feel comfortable taking pics either especially after Pete from Mod Squad got so mad. I got there late so I missed the photo shoot in the lobby, I got up late and my Neice wanted to eat breakfast first. I should have just gone on my own, but I got their pics so I'm satisfied. Next time I'm going to take my dvd for them to sign. The photo I bought from Bill was of the three of them with Barbara holding the bottle, now I just need Larry's autograph to comeplete the photo. I did manage to get a great pic of the cast of Summer of '42 during their photoshoot.

I was at the Hollywood Show also and met Barbara and Bill. I had met Bill Daily and Larry Hagman at a previous show but had never met Barbara before.
She looked great and Bill is really nice. I bought a picture of Bill and Farrah Fawcett. She played his girlfriend on one episode of the show.
I got Barbara's autograph on my DVD so now I have all 3 of their autographs. I almost didn't get it because it was very expensive. She wanted 50.00 to autograph a DVD and only 25.00 for a picture. I am not sure why the DVD was so much more but I knew if I didn't get I would regret it later so I paid the 50.00. I am glad I did.

To Karenlynn - - what did Bill say when you brought in a picture of him with Farrah? He absolutely adored Farrah. When she died last summer, I gave him prints of screen captures of the two of them in both IDOJ and "Inside O.U.T." (a pilot Bill did with Farrah, that didn't sell). He was thrilled!!!

To MickeyMac - Larry was overseas and couldn't attend Hollywood Show, though he was asked. He was just at that show in February, so perhaps he'll be at one of the next shows. He gets a better draw when he's with either Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy, or Barbara and Bill.

He told me that Farrah played his first girlfriend on the show. Those pictures must have been selling because after me and my sister got one there was only 1 or 2 left.

...she appeared on "JEANNIE" as "Tina" in two episodes {yes, only two}, and was Roger's only regular "girlfriend". She later co-starred with Bill in the unsold 1971 Screen Gems spy satire pilot, "INSIDE O.U.T." (which was repeated on NBC in 1977 after she became famous on "CHARLIE'S ANGELS', and again on "THE CBS LATE MOVIE" in 1984). He really had a crush on her...and still does.

She wanted $50.00 to autograph the DVD after you already paid about $30.00 for the DVD to begin with and another $30.00 just to get into the show? I don't know about you, but that's very greedy & disgusting of Barbara to do that to her fans especially during this time that we are in a recession. And for the record Larry was not in Europe, he was not asked to return to the show because him & his manager got too greedy with the owners at the last show he attended earlier this year.
I know these celebrities are there to make money and I don't have a problem with them charging $25.00 to sell their own photos at their table but seriously someone really needs to let Barbara know to lower her prices when it comes to signing IDOJ items that fans bring to the show because not everybody can't afford that type of money and if that's the case, no one will have any money left over to get other items signed by her or the other celebrities at these shows. In fact Barbara would make more money if she just lowers her price on personal items that fans bring to have her sign. There are a few nice celebrities like Pat Priest, Barbara Feldon & Erin Murphy who only charge $5.00 to have your own items signed. Sounds very fair & reasonable to me. These shows have become a huge disappointment for many fans & collectors. People like William Shatner, Adam West, Burt Ward, Kate Jackson & Loretta Switt are among the celebrities who have charged $50.00 or more to sign personal items. I don't think they realize that what they are doing by charging these ridiculous prices is just turning off fans and making these shows less fun to attend.
And I know a lot of collectors who have expressed their disgust regarding this. Hopefully the owners can talk some sense into these greedy celebrities.

Agreed, the cost is getting ridiculous. I used to be able to go to the Burbank Show with $100-120 and visit 5 celebrities, PLUS pay for my entrance into the show (which the organizers use to rent the facilities - the Burbank Marriott rents that place out). Now, though, to get 5 celebrities' autographs, I've got to bring $200. Ouch!!!!

But here's another problem that has crept into the celebrity autograph collectors realm: eBay. Some folks take a bunch of copies of the same photo (that they've snitched from the Internet), bring them to the show, and then the celebrity may "only" charge a minimal charge - - like Erin Murphy that you mentioned. These folks turn around and sell them for a minimum of $20 on eBay! So who makes the money there? The celebrities try to put a crimp on those by charging more for the autograph in the first place. It's all competition.

I totally agreed that $50 for a signature on my bottle was a LOT to pay. I'd paid Larry $35 (6 years ago) and Bill only charged me $5 (6 years ago), while Sidney's signature was "almost" free. (I bought his final fiction book, which he autographed, and then he signed my bottle too.) So $90 for signatures on my bottle ... now it's worth about $200, I'm guessing, if I ever went to sell it. So perhaps Barbara is correct to charge that much for the autograph.

A little aside - - my husband and I went to an astronaut autograph show, more than 6 years ago. Buzz Aldrin was charging $150, whether you brought the item to be autographed or you needed the photo. If Neil Armstrong's signature was on it, Buzz's charge was $300. Why??? Because that item would quadruple in value if both signatures were on it, and he knew it. If one had an item with two other signatures on it (such as Mike Collins on the Apollo 11 team photo) and just needed Buzz's to complete it, the charge was $450. Same reason.

Makes the bottle and other memorabilia charge look a whole lot smaller, doesn't it???

Where did you get that info? My sources say differently: Larry WAS asked to do the show and said he'd be overseas. Now, the excuse can be made up or whatever - - he WAS overseas at the end of September, in Europe. Perhaps he didn't want to do a show so close to his return from Europe. Two sources say he was invited. One of my sources is very close to Larry.....but I cannot say whom.

I know that there were those that were disgruntled with Larry after the February show. Personally I see the price issues becoming worse and worse (see my previous post, above) but Larry's bit was no worse than anyone's since then.

Well you could be right about his trip to Europe, but back in Feb. right after that show, I had read somewhere on a message board that the owners were pissed at Larry for being greedy with them and acting money hungry and blocking paying fans from taking shots and several fans complained to the owners who in return said he would not be allowed back. I really wanted to go to their last show to meet Barbara but I had heard that she was charging a lot of money for her autograph so I did not go. It really sucks that it has come to this with our favorite tv stars of the past. I rather much meet them on the street and get a free autograph and still come away with a positive experience.

When it comes to celebrities, sometimes I think its best just to admire their work from afar. You never know what they may be like in person.

....at least when I met them at the Chiller Theater Expo in Parsippany, N.J., yesterday...and they were friendly (Larry, however, will not directly shake hands with you- he will give you a fist bump, which was okay with me!). Their autograph rates at Chiller were reasonable: $30 for a photo, and they were very happy to pose for pictures with fans. I've waited for years to finally meet them in person, and now I'm HAPPY!
:D

{I would have said hello to Bill as well, but he left a bit early. Next time....}

Larry has issues with germs and probably isn't taking chances. Can't blame him, with all he's been through - - that liver transplant makes him vulnerable to illness, probably. I know when I met him, he gave me a little hug but that was about it.

Glad to hear their rates were reasonable, though a friend of mine said Barbara was a bit high again on the bottle signature.

Have you ever met Bill???? He's SUCH a sweetheart! I wonder why he left early????

I heard from a couple of friends who attended the Chiller autograph show that Barbara & Larry were sitting at opposite ends of the room and did not speak to each other. The only time you saw them together was when they were rounded up for the photo op. For some reason Larry never sits anywhere next to Barbara when they reunite at these shows. Barbara was however sitting near Bill Daily though. They always sit together which makes sense if it's an I Dream Of Jeannie reunion.
Everyone was very friendly and reasonable except for Larry Hagman who was charging $40 for his autograph on personal items & would not allow fans to snap photos, not even if they paid for their items to be signed. If you wanted to snap a photo of say Larry signing your Jeannie bottle or what other item you had for him to autograph, you were told it would cost you another $20. People were saying that Larry had three female helpers with him and one of them would purposely go out of her way to block you from taking any photos of Larry. Not very nice to treat a paying fan like that!
Meanwhile every other TV celebrity there including Barbara Eden did not care how many photos you took as long as you bought their autograph. I heard Patty Duke was the nicest celebrity there going out of her way to make her fans feel very special and she also was the cheapest. Her autograph was only $25
Also Larry does shake hands. He has at all the last shows he has appeared at including the Hollywood autograph show back in Feb. I was told he had a cold this time and that's why he did the fist thing.
I also heard that not too many people paid the $125 for the photo-op in the Jeannie bottle. And the ones that did were disappointed. They said it was very rushed and they only took one shot.

...at least, when I was there, was because more people seemed to be in line to meet Barbara than him. He's always had some kind of "jealousy" over this- he accepts "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" now and is proud of the work he did on it, but for a long time, he preferred not to talk about or refer to it {this was due, of course, to his legendary ego, as he didn't like playing "second fiddle" to Barbara when the series was in production}. I've read his autobiography, and he did come across as somewhat of a "spoiled child" when he didn't get his way about ideas for "JEANNIE", and Barbara overshadowing him at times.

They were indeed sitting on opposite sides of the room they were in- and, as I've mentioned, more people were drawn to her than him. But the Larry I met was "friendly". Now that I know he has some kind of aversion to shaking hands (his mood decides if he wants to reach out to strangers that way or not), I was perfectly happy to "bump fists" with him. He was charging $30 for an autographed photo are some days when he'd rather be remembered as "J.R. Ewing" than "Tony Nelson"]. I didn't see any "female helpers" around him when I got his autographed photo- which was okay, because I didn't have a camera, anyway! I came away with a positive view of Larry....I treated him with respect, and he reciprocated. Probably, had it been another day, I most likely would have gotten...a fist in the mouth? ;)

[As for Patty Duke, virtually everyone she met got a hug from her (me too)! Boy, I wish more celebrities were as gentle and loving as she was....Barbara didn't give me a hug, but I held hands with her....and she was equal to "total warmth" as Patty.]

One of the Jeannie Sisters went to Chiller Theatre in NJ - - it's practically in her backyard, so she was thrilled to see the three on the October list. She went both Friday evening and on Saturday. (The Burbank show does not have the celebs there on Friday evening, only the vendors.) She said that Larry had female helpers, Barbara had an agent or similar with her, and Bill's helper was from the Chiller Show. (In LA, he had a local friend as his helper.)

Her full report is on our website, as are her photos of "our three".
