KIM CATTRALL often resents her SEX AND THE CITY fame because it has made her a target for over-eager fans.

The actress shot to international stardom when she landed the role of maneater Samantha Jones in the hugely popular TV show.

She reprised the part for two spin-off movies, but admits she finds fame a burden, especially when she is approached by strangers in her free time.

Cattrall tells Britain's Daily Mail, "I try not to be rude to fans but I need to have boundaries. Recently I was enjoying a quiet lunch in Liverpool (England) with a friend I haven't seen in a long while.

"This guy approaches our table, clearly the worse for drink. He says, 'C'mon, stand up - I want a photo with you.' My response was, 'I won't do it. I'm not working right now, this is my time.'

"I don't like to be put in a position where I'm made to feel like I've just arrived in Disneyland dressed as Mickey Mouse and my duty is to pose with complete strangers."

It's different if the fan is rude about it, but hopefully she doesn't reject requests like that in general. It's part of the business. She wouldn't be working as an actress at all if it wasn't for fans.

...let's see, a 1979 episode of "TRAPPER JOHN, M.D."....starring in a syndicated 1980 TV movie, "The Gossip Columnist"...that 1987 theatrical fluke, "Mannequin"....and all that **** in between before she latched onto "SEX AND THE CITY". If I were her, I'd be more friendlier to her fans...imagine all the C, D and "E" movies awaiting her if she ever lost her "bankability"...which depends, for the most part, on how she receives the people who made her a success.....

OH Nuts!

The absolute down side of stardom is the lack of privacy. I don't blame Kim for being annoyed. Sometimes I think a good solution is to have a good make up artist/costumer who can come up with good disguises so a star can go out in public w/o being bugged. Yes they make a lot of $$$ but they deserve privacy too.

I remember darling Betty White in her bio talking about when she took poor Allen to the hospital and they just found out he had cancer. A nurse shoved a piece of paper at Betty and asked for her autograph. There are ABSOLUTELY TWO places you NEVER ask for an autograph - a hospital or public rest room. But rude (or thoughtless) fans will.
