PGood97041 10-07-2010, 03:04 PM my set doesn't have the curtain call, but sounds like if i call the number they'll take care of me.
but, technically, this means i STILL don't have the complete The Mary Tyler Moore Show set! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
patience is a virtue, i guess!
ClassicTVGal 10-07-2010, 04:45 PM I just got my set in the mail. I guess I need to check mine out. Glad they are willing to give replacements!! :)
I'm assuming it's supposed to be IMMEDIATELY following the end? (I mean I know it did back in '77) But you know what I mean, right?
Meaning not a bonus feature, WHICH some companies do.
ClassicTVGal 10-07-2010, 05:04 PM (Update)
OKay, I just checked my disc 3 and I don't have it, either.
I (literally) just hung up with a lady and she said that it should be on it's way sometime next week when the product is available.

Just hung up, talked to a very nice person and she said within the next week or two when the discs are available I will be sent one.

Family Ties Forever! 10-13-2010, 07:06 PM I saw the curtain call on youtube. I typed it in. I was sure if it would be on there, but it was. That's cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qP1DUdrJfM
I rented season 7 and finished watching it. :)

Aw, cool! Thanks!
Just watched it! I feel like I saw that before... lol.
scotsguy 10-14-2010, 07:21 AM Sadly I'm stuck, the telephone number is no good to me as I'm in the UK,such a shame.
dakert 10-14-2010, 12:04 PM UPS just delivered the replacement disk and I watched the Curtain Call
Edster2973 10-14-2010, 01:02 PM UPS just delivered the replacement disk and I watched the Curtain Call
Let me chime in and say that mine came in today as well. Haven't watched it yet but it's here. They're really fast and I commend them!
Ed :)
Benno123 10-14-2010, 03:45 PM My replacement came today, too. Though when I opened it the back of the disc was all scratched .... *sigh* I just can't win. I played it, the important part played so I doubt I will return it. I'll watch the entire disc and if it plays fine then no biggies. If not, then I'll call and see if I can get yet another one.
Regardless I look it at like this: for those who ended up with the "new" ending on the final show with the theme song, we not have the "orginal" aired version and the "rerun" version.
scotsguy 10-14-2010, 05:55 PM I got a full refund, from Amazon for the MTM set as they couldn't help me with a replacement disc and I get to keep the MTM season7 set too!
Got a friend in the US to kindly get a replacement disc for me.
ClassicTVGal 10-14-2010, 08:16 PM I got mine this afternoon, as well. :)
PGood97041 10-14-2010, 08:58 PM yeah, i got mine today, too
i hadn't thought about that...i was going to toss the first disk, but why not keep it to have "both versions"!
bliss 10-14-2010, 10:04 PM Add me to the list.
Finally got the replacement disc today from Fox and the first thing I did was check the back of the DVD for scratches or smears. It was put in a cheap looking paper disc holder. Thank God it looked clean. Final Curtain Call appeared to be fine. I'm keeping the old DVD too just for the syndicated closing credit version.
ClassicTVGal 10-14-2010, 10:59 PM Yeah I'm sure all of ours came in the same "packaging".
Yes, I'm keeping my other Disk 3, as well. :D
scotsguy 10-27-2010, 09:18 AM I got my replacement disc three of MTM season7,thanks Linda in California for sorting it out for me!
Yes I'm keeping the two discs too,I like the syndicated closing credits as it has Valerie and Cloris in them.
Leigh Ann 10-27-2010, 09:39 AM I finally called yesterday to get my replacement disc. Wasn't too bad at all. Now I just have to wait for it to come. :)
McGillicuddy 11-12-2010, 09:07 PM Yesterday I just picked up TMTMS seasons 5, 6 & 7 on sale for 8.99 each. Unfortunately, my season 7 had the missing "final curtain call". I just now ordered my replacement disc, and yes, it was handled very smoothly. It sure seems like a lot of people didn't get the FCC.
Question: Some of you are saying you're keeping the other disc for the syndicated closing. Aren't both the "Curtain Call" AND the regular closing credits on the corrected disc?
Larry Surrell 11-12-2010, 10:01 PM I just bought season 7 at my local Best Buy and it came with the correct curtain call ending, so I'm happy.
Markway895, my disc does not have the syndicated closing credits on the last episode, only the final curtain call ending. Boy, you sure got a bargain paying only $8.99 per season. I paid $25 for season 7 alone, but in all honesty would have bought it at twice the price!
I watched the final scene of the last show on my computer close up and when they're huddled together I can see tears running down Mary's and Gavin's cheeks. Amazing how that scene can be funny and sad at the same time; it was just brilliant!
McGillicuddy 11-12-2010, 10:16 PM Well, then I'll keep both discs, also.
Giant Eagle, our local supermarket in Northeast Ohio, had several TV series on sale. They had all 7 seasons of TMTMS, and seasons 1-4 are now available in slim cases to be uniform to seasons 5-7. I think I'll replace seasons 2-4, but I want to stick with the original box for season 1, with the booklet and all.
McGillicuddy 11-18-2010, 11:15 PM I got my replacement disc today.
Does anyone have both the final curtain call closing AND the regular closing on the same disc? I wish I did. But having both closings on 2 different discs is the next best thing.
ClassicTVGal 11-21-2010, 10:02 PM Does anyone have both the final curtain call closing AND the regular closing on the same disc? I wish I did. But having both closings on 2 different discs is the next best thing.
No, because the credits are on during the curtain call. And Mary announces everyone as they come on stage.
Also, the discs were made that way. (if you understand what I mean)
Just wondering if I order the DVD from Amazon for Christmas, should the correct episode be on it?
