Do you think the sweathogs set a bad example with their bad behavior and their delinquent ways? Or perhaps were critcs just a tad too critical of a sitcom?

I don't think so. But then again, I wasn't around when the show was on, so I have no way of really knowing how much the Sweathogs influenced kids back then one way or the other.

I don't think the sweathogs were a bad example so much as they were a warning. This is what can happen if you don't do well in school. However I don't think the sweathogs had a whole lot of influence anyway. Since they were a bunch of 25 year olds playing high school students I don't think too many people took them very seriously anyway. So how much influence could they have?

I was definitely around and probably the audience most influential being I was in middle school. I think the Sweathogs showed my generation that you could be anything you wanted to be if you just applied yourself. The show did not reward excuses, bad behavior, or irresponsibility. It definitely tried to place ownership on a group of kids that didn't think they had to carry it. I think the fact they were charming allowed us to accept their bad behavior and root them on to success.
