A fight involving 75 people broke out early Tuesday morning in Elmwood Place near Cincinnati.

At least seven police jurisdictions had to be called in to get the large brawl under control, according to the Elmwood Place police chief.

Police say 150 people were attending a 3-year-old's birthday party at the Fraternal Order of Eagle's Hall when a fight broke out shortly after the ex-husband of one of the women in attendance showed up around 1:15 a.m.

That ex-husband confronted his ex-wife's new boyfriend and the party got physical, according to police.

Fifteen people were injured in the clash with at least five of those hospitalized, including one person who required surgery due to a cut from a beer bottle.

Police say beer bottles were the primary weapons used in the melee and that four people were detained. All four likely face charges, but police have not released their names or those charges.

A total of 20 officers responded to the scene and police believe a majority of those involved were heavily intoxicated.

Police say the Eagle's Hall was being rented out and their membership was not involved.

Wow! This story raises a few questions. Why was a birthday party for a three year-old still in progress at 1:15 AM? Why was beer being served at a birthday party for a three year-old? Why was there 150 people at a three year-old's party? No three year-old knows that many people. When I was a child my parents basic rule was whatever age you are turning that's how many friends you can invite to your birthday party. Obviously these people used a child's birthday as an excuse to have a party for themselves which got out of hand when someone's ex showed up. I feel sorry for the child who obviously got lost in the shuffle. This is a birthday that child will probably never forget but sadly for all of the wrong reasons.

This party was obviously not about the child at all, but about the parents'/families' ego and ridiculous display of excess. I share your pity for the child.

Yeah, Ohio has it's share of nutballs, but Illinois is no better. For proof you have no further to look than the government!

Stop reading my mind, Marv.

This story confuses me a lot, and for no good reason at all! As for 150 people, maybe the 3yo has a reallllllllllllllllllly big family? It's possible! I have 6 uncles/aunts on one side of the family alone, so I think I have roughly 60ish relatives on that side of the family.

Sorry Allison I'll try to control my powers!!  A large family could help explain the large number of people at this child's birthday party.
