Candace Bergen has announced that she will pen a new autobiography.

The five-time Emmy Award winner previously wrote a bio called Knock Wood for publishing house Simon and Schuster in 1984.

Plans for a sequel have reportedly been in the works since 1987, according to Reuters.

In the as-yet untitled new book, Bergen is expected to share details of her career revival with Murphy Brown and open up about the death of her husband Louis Malle in 1995.

Simon and Schuster executive editor Priscilla Painton said that the company is looking forward to publishing the "second part" of the actress's life story.

"Candy has proven with her first book she is a natural story teller - funny and honest on the page. I look forward to publishing the second part of her rich life story," she said.

Bergen's latest book is to be published in 2011.

Great news! Will be looking forward to it. Have "Knock Wood".

Hope Candice calls the S&S executive editor 'Prissy'.
Candy foes not suit her. I think I read that she would rather be called Bergen. But don't hold me to it.

The name of her second autobiography is A Fine Romance. And it picks up right where Knock Wood left off, with her marriage to Louis Malle. Then Chloe's birth and I hope, loads of Murphy Brown stuff, Louis Malle's death, Boston Legal, her second marriage to Marshall Rose, health and a discussion about the good old aging process. It goes on sale on April 7, 2015. Check amazon to pre order!
