Watching Movies Online: Not Ready For Primetime
29 Sept 2010
Only a handful of consumers have connected their TV sets to the Internet so that they can download or stream movies onto them, according to Npd Research.
The researchers found that 75% of U.S. consumers do not download or stream movies or TV shows at all.
Of those who do:
15% via their personal computers
6% via a video-game player
4% via a smartphone
2% via a Blu-ray Disc player or a device like Apple TV or Roku
“What we learned in our research is that while some people already experience the world in a connected way, most do not,” said Npd entertainment analyst Russ Crupnick.
