My DVD copy of Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985)... a favourite 80s movie of mine... I hope the (100% unnecessary) remake doesn't end up starring pole "dancer" Miley Cyrus, as I read it may, because then it'll also be 100% crap :| ...

Savage Justice (1988) on DVD... caught my attention, on my way home from the beach, on a DVD rack outside a discount store (I call them, quite appropriately, $2 junk shops... the perfect place for this movie :|)... the cover said "A Female RAMBO!" (oh, I wish), so I bought it, of course... the lead Julia Montgomery wasn't too bad, but the rest of it definitely was... *tosses it on a pile of junk movies I rarely rewatch*... Anyway, the beach I went to is mainly a surfing/bodyboarding beach, but I saw a guy fishing, who caught a jewfish that was at least 10 kilos (I lifted it)... He told me it was definitely a one-off catch in that area... so lucky (and so delicious), and so much more exciting to watch than this movie that day lol...

Tombs Of The Blind Dead (1971)

Could really have used some character development. The schoolgirl days of the lead females is touched on but goes no further. The lead male is a blank.

And where these zombies got horses 2 seconds after coming out of the grave, I'll never know.

Still, very atmospheric and very nicely shot.

The first 3 I watched were ones I've already seen but I wanted to see if the versions differed than what I already had, and in the case of one I hadn't seen it since it was released:

The Undertaker And His Pals '66- Hilariously cheesy horror comedy. There's supposedly a gorier lost version somewhere out there.

Mutant '84- Very entertaining zombie/infected flick.

I loved the all the '90s Batman movies. Makes me want to watch them again. Lol.

I've been meaning to watch the old Batman's again (mainly Schumacher's films) as I didn't see them since their original theatrical run.

Batman & Robin was awful and I now see why it was the last of the Batman films at the time.

Tim Burton's movies were way better than Schumacher's.

Phone (2002)

Though it had a lot of potential, I can't recommend it.
No transition from "present" to "past" and back, an original plot premise left dangling, no real wrap up.

Could see it being remade, but just the thought of another American remake of an Asian film makes me kinda sick.

This was a made-for-television movie that aired on The Family Channel, so for what it was it was quite good.

The acting in this, as well as the special effects, are cheesy at some parts.

At the time, this came out around the same time of Twister so it got a lot of unfair comparisons against the bigger-budgeted tornado flick.

I have that on Beta tape ;) ... as well as on DVD... I haven't watched a VHS tape in a while... I definitely need to clean my main VHS player, which I tend to do myself, because the last VHS tape I watched in it sort of made that necessary :| ... I grew up about a 5 min walk away from a video store/major shopping centre/sporting oval, so my sister and I rented tapes often (there was absolutely nothing we weren't allowed to rent... they never checked ID then, and our parents weren't even remotely interested in what we watched)... Anyway, across the road from the video store was a massive store called the 'Movie Supermarket', which literally had piles of ex-rental tapes from video stores all around Australia (as well as some new ones), for sale very cheaply... So many of my VHS tapes are from this store, so the condition of each varies, but ex-rental tapes were made to withstand repeated viewing, so the quality of (most of) them is still very good...
