Which did you like better?I liked Gen.Peterson, because he was a lot nicer to Tony and Roger.Gen.Schaefer,on the other hand, was a little bit more harsh (kinda strictly by the book)and not very nice to either Tony or Roger.

I liked General Martin Peterson; he was Sidney Sheldon's idea of a "father figure" in the Air Force. Tough, gruff, yet understanding and gregarious....and also tolerant of Dr. Bellows' constant accusations against Tony--up to a point {"Doctor, if this is another one of your wild goose chases..."}. I love the way he usually squelches Bellows after he's been proven wrong {"But, General! I saw the girl, I saw the food..."/"And you're gonna see me in my office first thing tomorrow morning at eight o'clock. We're going to talk about waking up generals in the middle of the night!!"}. Of course, he could also dispatch Tony with equal impatience {"Tony, I'm going to give you some advice- it's the same advice I'd give you, if you were my own son..."/"Yes, sir."/"GET....OUT...."}. And of course, his performance in "Djinn-Djinn, Go Home" was memorable {who could forget the General cowered on the floor against a corner, his uniform in shreds?}. Barton MacLane, who was a veteran Warner Bros. contract player in the '30s and early '40s (usually cast as "hard-boiled" police detectives), was great! Sidney Sheldon originally intended to feature him in only one episode ["Too Many Tonys"]. When he was rewriting "The Richest Astronaut in the Whole Wide World" a few weeks later, he decided to bring MacLane back....and when Sheldon began writing every episode, he decided to make "Peterson" a recurring character. For some reason, MacLane sat out the third season, returning near the end of it, and continued appearing until his health declined (from cancer), and his death on New Year's Day, 1969.

General Winfield Schaeffer, on the other hand, was tougher, more impatient, and had a tendency to blow his top on occasion {"Dr. Bellows....what have you against Major Nelson???"}. Sadly, Vinton Hayworth, veteran New York actor, died in May 1970, just as the last episodes of the series were telecast.

Was a good one,and one of the better season one black and white, where Tony,Roger and Jeannie(In this one,as in "The Richest Astronaut In The World",also a good one from season one,Roger was briefly Jeannie's master)worked together to get the Ever-So-Suspicious Dr.Bellows out of Tony's house. And the ending was funny, too, wherein Roger said to Tony"Can I keep the maid?".Tony says yes,and Jeannie, smiling, blinks up a maid, but not the kind Roger had in mind(Instead of a sexy maid,Jeannie blinks up a frumpy type maid-Tony and Jeannie laugh).Priceless.
