I've been posting stuff and sometimes it posts and sometimes it doesn't. Also, if you check the new posts feature, it constantly says no new matches. Anything wrong?

The search seems to be working fine. The lack of new posts is a little frustrating. There is a lot of news posted, but it doesn't seem to generate a lot of discussion.

Sites like Facebook and Twitter and have killed the activity of a lot of other message boards. There are just so many alternatives these days and only so much time people can devote to the internet on a daily basis. We've lost probably half of our daily registered active users from a few years ago. People that were in high school and college in recent years left the boards and they weren't replaced in the same numbers. If shows like Happy Days, The Facts of Life and other classics had a revival, I think the activity would pick up again. We have a lot of lurkers and not enough people participating in threads and creating discussion.

I realize that is inevitable with all the kids growing up and going to college, and moving on.
When I first found SO I was married for 1 year, no kids.

Now I have 2 kids and have been married for 10 years.
My particpation over the last few years has been slow and sporadic compared to the early days.

I actually like SO a lot more than Facebook. I find on Facebook I don't feel like telling everyone I know what I'm up to all the time. It's giant case of too much information. It's good to keep in contact with friends, but it's not where I like to talk about everything. I feel almost guarded there at times.

This place is a home away from home, where I can relax and shoot the breeze.

I hope more people come back, and I really think some will.

Yeah, I have also the lack of activity on these boards. Expecually in the tv show forums such as "I Love Lucy" or "The Lucy Show". Those are the ones I visit the most because those a two of my favorite shows. Course I don't post on here a hole lot. I just mainly lurk and read threads.
