It seems that nobody has a middle name in this show!

No middle names? The witches and warlocks don't even have last names, except for Endora, but you'd never be able to pronounce it!!

But nearly all the witches have first names that end with an "a" or "a" sound. ;)

I always wondered why Mr and Mrs Stephens Snr would never have asked what Samantha's last name was? or where she lived before meeting Darrin.

Or why Darrin doesn't know Sam's last name before he marries her.

Well, Samantha did have a last name.....it was Dobson. In the official paperback novel (that came out soon after the series premiered), this was her maiden name!

Les we all forget Sarah Baker and Hedley Partridge.:D

That can't be it. It just can't! Dobson is a very easy name to pronounce!

yeah, especially since Endora said you couldn't pronounce it.

Good point about Hedley Partridge, Aunt Clara's old beau, and I guess Dr. Bombay had a last name, but no first name!

We never said it was Endora's last name, but Samantha's. Endora very well likely herself went by her own maiden name, esp considering her own open marriage to Maurice. And this was the name that the author of the novel picked....no one said it was considered canon in the Bewitched mythology.

Maybe Sam used a last name that wasn't her real last name. After all, she was posing as a mortal when she met Darrin and she needed to have a last name that people could pronounce. Maybe she just chose "Dobson" to fit her needs.
