It's worse here in Cleveland, since Progressive is one of the biggest companies in our area, and of course, bought the naming rights for Jacobs Field at the beginning of 2008, so now the ballpark is named after them. :mad: Plus, there are a bazillion Progressive ads with Flo not only on TV but on the radio during the Indians games, and it gets old reaaaaaaaaal fast. GRRRRRR...:mad: (Not to mention that I once interviewed for a position at Progressive and didn't get it...yes, a few sour grapes.)

Why do all the commercials have to have people smiling in them ? I saw a lady scrubbing a toilet with some kind of cleaner and she was grinning like The Cheshire Cat. I doubt if anyone has ever smiled while cleaning a crapper.

How about the commercial for Choice Hotels where the guy says bada-book bada-boom? That commercial was popular when it first came out but then it got so annoying after the first few times you watch it. Another commercial that gets overplayed and also very annoying is the Holiday Inn Express commercial where it shows a guy getting out of bed and pumping up his fists like he's getting ready for a boxing match and then the commercial ends with the guy getting his breakfast and then cheering with his friends watching a football game. I don't know why this commercial became popular but it gets annoying after the first few times

One an old tape from 2004 I actually heard a Liberty ad that wasn't bad. This was from TV Land, and unlike today, they had ads for real products like cheese and cereal.

The guy is supposed to be acting like anything that causes mayhem. Some of those commercials are funny though.

It's kinda funny toward the end of one of the ads, where he's communicating with "other" dogs, in other cars. That goes by pretty quick.

I personally can’t stand the Geico commercials. I actually enjoy the Loooonnng ANTENNA commercials. A great time to microwave something or go to the bathroom.

The one that makes me sick (well one of them, anyway), is the Skittles one where the guy is sitting by the giraffe. I won't say anymore, but they keep showing it over and over and I honestly have to look away. I get that it's supposed to be funny, but seriously when you think about it, it's gross. I haven't gone through 7 pages worth of posts but aren't all the commercials are annoying? One that stands out is The Geico Haunted House ad. The one where the girls says "why can't just get in the moving car." They stopped showing it a while back but now it's being shown all the time.

The ad is a classic, but they HAD to spoil it this year with live action at the end, which seems to have no purpose other than to spoil the whole ad. (The original ad is still around, and they do manage to play it once in awhile.) BOOOO to Hershey's for not leaving well enough alone!

Those LM ads make me long for the jingle they had in, I believe, the mid- or late '80s that went "America believes in Liberty, Liberty Mutual Insurance" with a visual of a yellow flag with the LM logo waiving.

Most make my list because of repetition, but there are certain spots that make me change the channel/turn off the TV -

Seeing old ads from the 60s etc. reminds you how much better they were then. Of course attorneys didn't advertise back then (they just chased ambulances and didn't bug you on TV), and there was no such thing as an infomercial-style ad.

COZI TV recently added Bones to their weeknight lineup. I thought I would get back into that show and I started tuning in this week. Unfortunately COZI also seems to be showing a Shriner's ad in every single commercial break. :mad:
