Eleanor Bolta Taffner, who helped bring "Three's Company" and "The Benny Hill Show" through her company DLT Entertainment, died of natural causes Sept. 15 in New York. She was 79.

Taffner launched TV distrib D.L. Taffner in the early '70s with her husband, Donald. The couple later changed the company's name to Taffner Enterprises as they began focusing on TV and stage production.

DLT distributed ABC sitcom "Three's Company," and its spinoff "Three's a Crowd," and "Too Close for Comfort."

With Brit prodco Theater of Comedy, the company produced BBC hit "As Time Goes By." It also co-produced made-fors "The Saint" and "Dick Francis Mysteries," which aired in the U.K., France, Canada, Ireland, Australia and Germany.

In 2003, Eleanor Taffner was appointed Honorary VP of the Glasgow School of Art in recognition of her continued support of the institution.

Survivors include her husband, son, daughter and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's U., 8000 Utopia Parkway
