I do a silly mind exercise regarding the names of characters on tv shows. For example:

Jack Tripper--the name Tripper being a reference to Jack's physical comedy and *trips*.

Chrissy Snow--the name Snow indicating flake, as in snow*flake*.

Janet Wood--the name Wood meaning something very solid, as in Janet's solid, sensible nature.

The Ropers--the name Roper symbolizing a psycholigical noose (rope) around the roommate's necks, in the way they had to hide things from them, pay rent on time, and be on their best behavior.

As for Larry Dallas, and Mr. Furley and the other replacement characters--I've come up dry. Any ideas?

I can't think of anything for Larry or Mr. Furly though.

But for Cindy, Snow can be slippery, and she is a clutz, so... :)
But they gave her that name cuz she's Chrissy's cousin. ;)

Larry Dallas:Dallas for a place I think it was in texas because he always acts like hes from another place...and a diferent job and stuff like that...

Well Dallas is just part of Larry's last name. If you could figure out the rest of it, that might help you in thinking up something for it.

The Larry character didn't appear in an episode untill the second season in 1978, right? Larry Hagman starred in the series Dallas which debuted in the spring of 1978. What I'm trying to say is maybe the writers for Three's Company were thinking of Larry Hagman and Dallas when they were trying to come up with a name for their new character. It's a stretch but it could have happened that way.

Actually, Larry appeared in #04 "No Children, No Pets." So they musta just picked it. And Larry's real last name is Daliopolis.

Larry wasn't given his last name until 1982. He was given the last name 'Dallas' because the writers used Bea Dallas' last name for his character.

I guess you can say that Mr Furley acted a little squirrelly.

Larry wasn't the only character on TV at that time to be given the last name Dallas. Danny and Jodie on "Soap" also had the last name Dallas. Wouldn't it have been funny if Larry was related to the family on "Soap" and did a guest stint on that show?

Larry Dallas - Would walk around acting cool :cool: so maybe he thought he was a cowboy from Dallas. :lol:

Mr. Furley - Would Furl everyone around him meaning he would get on people's nerves. :lol:
