This show is now on YouTube and I wonder what people think of it. I love the beginning when Curtis said he went to the back of the store to order a pizza to be delivered and Lucy said: "That was sneaky." Curtis: "I have been around you." However, the part with Leonard interviewing Kevin is boring but Kevin has at least five good wisecracks in the show and is probably the best of the new supporting cast. Lucy singing "I will sit Under the Apple Tree" horribly is a mild chuckle but her bizarre dancing isn't funny. Her magican act is okay but not too hilarious. However, the emotional appeal of the story is there like a moral family sitcom would have. Her rendition of Sunrise, Sunset is heartfelt and dramatic and the end when she hugs her grandchildren comes from her heart. Lucy did her best and had a few laughs and a good moral storyline. I am sad this was the last Life With Lucy. I think on another night it might have done alright but not in the top ratings. I think that Curtis yelling at Lucy and making her cry was not right for Lucy's age and the audience is annoying because they laugh at everything and the applause when Lucy enters drowns out the beginning of what is being said.

Despite the unfortunate writing, etc. of the series, I always felt that "World's Best Grandmother" had a special feeling to it. Not for most of the content, but for, as you mentioned, the hugs at the end. It made it very sentimental.

I have had a bad copy of the episode on DVD because it never aired - as opposed to the better quality ones that did air. But I do see some potential if only the script had been better and the acting of the family for this episode to truly been better.

I think they should have aired this one! I haven't seen it in a while, and I didn't know it was on YouTube.

I hope Life with Lucy the complete series gets released of dvd, after M.P.I. is finished with Here's Lucy and The Lucy Specials.
