In addition to seeing how "Law and Order" is done, Los Angeles-style, American viewers will also get the Brit rendition this fall.
BBC America has committed to airing 26 episodes of "Law and Order: UK," with the first going up at 10:30 p.m. Oct. 3, followed by regular airings at 9 p.m. on Fridays.

NBC, which owns the franchise and is spinning off new version "Law and Order: Los Angeles," which premieres Sept. 29, had the option of putting the import on its schedule, but insiders said the Peacock felt the full British version wouldn't be a good fit.

Jamie Bamber, Bradley Walsh, Ben Daniels, Freema Agyeman, Harriet Walter and Bill Paterson are the series regulars. Exec producers are Jane Featherstone, Andrew Woodhead, Stephen Garrett and the founder of the "Law and Order" empire, Dick Wolf. Chris Chibnall ("Torchwood," "Life on Mars") is lead writer and also exec producer.

The series premiered in Britain in February 2009. The first 13 episodes, which aired that year on Blighty's ITV, were adapted from the original "Law and Order" series, producer Richard Stokes has said. The second 13 launched there this month.

My mom used to watch Law And Order UK when it originally aired on BBC America and she thought the episodes were awesome and the storylines were interesting and this is one version of Law And Order I would like to see with Mom because I have just started to have a MEGA crush on Bradley Walsh and can't believe that he actually stars on Law And Order UK in addition to hosting The Chase in the UK and is now a wonderful and talented singer as well. I wonder why BBC America removed Law And Order UK because Mom enjoyed it and it was so interesting to see
