Steve Harvey Debuts as Host of "Family Feud"

Steve Harvey is hoping his comedy chops will be a recipe for success as he takes over hosting duties on "Family Feud".

"I bet you there's not a funnier game show on TV," Harvey told The Associated Press. "We've done some pretty incredible stuff so far."

Harvey, who makes his debut as host on Monday, has already taped 100 episodes, according to the AP. The gig will not interfere with his comedy tour and syndicated radio show.

As for finding comedy on the show, Harvey says he looks no further than the contestants.

"You're not the genius you were at home on the couch," Harvey says of the players, who try to correctly guess the most popular answers to survey questions. "Some of these non-genius answers I get to comment on, and they give me plenty of material."

Harvey, who starred on TV's "The Steve Harvey Show", is the sixth host in "Family Feud's" history.

He replaces John O'Hurley, who left the show to focus on theater and other business ventures.

Family Feud has always been a favorite game show. Steve Harvey is a change of pace from John O'Hurley. I'll be watching to see how he does. Wishing both Steve and John good luck in their new ventures.

I saw Steve Harvey's first episode yesterday and I though he did a fine job. To me, he should interact with the contestants a little more instead of rushing into their answer. He was also really funny.

Saw the first FF show with Steve as the host. I think FF is in good hands.
