Alright my fellow nj buddy, I am preparing for getting an over-the-air signal in my house hooked up to a dvd recorder, but need some clarifications...now I know we don't even have a confirmation about it being in NY..right? even though it should be a given considering WPIX owned by tribune...

right now...if I take my cable off and look at antenna...I get...

11.1 duplicate feed of WPIX
11.2 LATV

now Time Warner carries LATV on Channel 166....what happened to estrella?

and where is "This TV" located?

and my final question is...how many digital channels will WPIX have?

I am working with TW to find out if there are plans to carry this, but I doubt it...you see....It's all or nothing with "must carry" or "retransmission consent", so if WPIX requested "must carry" for their digital channels, then they would have to elect for "must carry" for WPIX-TV, and lose the revenue TW and other cable companies give them, which they won't do.....so they elect to choose "retransmission consent" which means $$$, so that is why the digital world seems to be a bust on cable so far!

It is for sure going to be on ALL 19 Tribune-owned markets, including yes, WPIX. I just don't know yet what number it will be on over the air for WPIX. Maybe 11.2? I posted what number it is on for WGN Chicago on the blog.

Are you sure you're getting LATV? That was replaced by Estrella a while back. I get Estrella on Comcast.
