Was a relationship of immense dislike.EXCEPT in the classic black and white Dick York as Darrin second season episode "The Joker is a Card",which introduced practical-joking Uncle Arthur. In this one, there was like-dislike ,especially when Darrin said to Uncle Arthur who gave him golf balls(real ones,no joke ones)"Why thank you,Arthur.I can sure use these!",smiling. And it was funny when both Uncle Arthur and Darrin laughed uproariously when Endora, after being given a pair of opera glasses, got a black eye from them.(Seeing Uncle Arthur AND Darrin laughing together is something you do not see at all in other episodes). All of the other episodes with Uncle Arthur did not get along at all.Later on,Uncle Arthur slowly began to dislike Darrin as well.

According to Joan York, Paul Lynde called Dick York the "funniest man I ever met." A high compliment from Mr. Lynde!

What has the fact of Lynde and Sargent both being gay have to do with anything???

That's such a nice thing to hear that Paul Lynde said about Dick York. Since Paul absolutely adored Elizabeth Montgomery and she him, those early years must have had lots of happy times. I remember Erin Murphy saying that Paul didn't really like children that much and didn't ever really engage with her even though on the show there are some really nice Uncle Arthur/Tabitha moments especially in season five.

I wouldn't say that since Arthur liked Darrin in the 3rd season ep Endora Moves In For A Spell. It wasn't until Arthur wore out his welcome that he got under Darrin's skin. In Season 5 Arthur even sided with Sam and Darrin against the witches council that lead to his and Serena losing their powers. Darrin #2 tolorated Arthur.
