No, not at all, what makes you think that? I'm really curious.

But i do think Bea Arthur was a little envious of Betty White.
Because..(and this is just personal observation/feeling, not based on any true facts that I know for sure)...betty had this overwhelming happy and cheerful attitude no matter what and Bea was much more complicated and moody.
You know how it is when your down and out and somebody comes along with a huge smile telling you how good and fun their life is..
You want to shoot them right then and there ;)

I think she was kind of jealous of Rose, and the reason I said that because Rose was always so happy .That's what I meant.

let's compare Dorothy was from New York and Rose was from St. Olaf different outlooks.

Dorothy was divorced and Rose was widowed. Dorothy had been left by her husband for a younger woman. Bitter? Certainly!

Dorothy had to care and put up with her mohter on a daily basis. I think there are perfectly good reasons for Dorothy to have a different attitude than Rose...jealous? That's a stretch.

As for Bea and Betty. They had a different work ethic and a different way of interacting with the audience and with people. Doesn't make either woman a horrible person. They were simply as different as night and day. So?
