What a pathetic "tv channel."I agree. They had a pretty decent schedule years ago, when they aired "Green Acres","Mama's Family","Alice",and "Amen".,and for those who could get them,"I Married Joan","The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet","My Little Margie" and "The Beverly Hillbillies".Why they changed,I"ll never know.

This is beyond pathetic. They add an extra hour, and all they do is air more CM/WAT? Are you kidding me?

ION finished up the season with a nice set of Nielsens in Week 52, and established a new all-time network record performance for the full 52-week season.

Week 52 (Sep.13-19, 2010)
0.9HH/1%, 0.4 A18-49 (460,000), 1,280,000 P2+ viewers

2009-10 Season (Full 52 Weeks)
0.7HH/1%, 0.3 A18-49 (400,000), 1,080,000 P2+ viewers

For the full season, ION edged out Telemundo and TeleFutura in both households and P2+ viewers.

I guess what it all boils down to,(means, bottom line is)ION is ANOTHER cable network where ratings are more important than what WE the viewers want.In other words,if the programs they air get good ratings, they will continue to air them. And yes,I realize that ION programming executives have the final say-we do not.

Week 2 (Sep.27-Oct.4, 2010)
00.7HH/1%, 0.3 A18-49 (350,000), 1,020,000 P2+ viewers

Just a FYI for viewers in Pittsburgh (I don't think this was mentioned here)...ION will be available over the air soon:

If they would just get some more shows...

ION had its strongest week ever last week in the Nielsens, setting new records in households and P2+ (tying its previous high in A18-49s). Much of the credit can go to 'Criminal Minds', which itself established a new alltime high last week for the network in households, A18-49s and P2+ for a single broadcast.

Week 16 (Jan.3-9, 2011)

ION 1.0HH/2%, 0.4 A18-49, 1,520,000 P2+ viewers

I question how accurate the Nielsen ratings still are when tv stations with such pathetic line-ups can find something to brag about. And it's not only that ION station either, but many other stations too. What type of people and very narrow demographic groups are the Nielsen ratings using these days.Maybe Nielsen now just accepts people that like to watch commercial filled garbage.

is anyone surprised this channell is stil in Buisness lol

LUNCH

I'm not surprised. 90+ percent of tv stations really have no business being on the air period, because they are worthless, why should ION or whatever they call themselves be an exception.lol

They have some great shows, they just don't have enough. I never understood why they let their absolute highest rated show, NCIS, expire. Too bad they can't combine their shows with those on MyNetworkTV.

NEW YORK, January 25, 2011- ION Television has inked a deal with CBS Television Distribution for the rights to all existing episodes and future production of the popular police drama “Flashpoint.” The announcement was made today by Brandon Burgess, Chairman/CEO, ION Media Networks.

ION Television acquires the rights to all existing “Flashpoint” episodes, including up to 18 originals which are currently in production and scheduled to air later this year. Additionally, the network has the right to continue original production for season five and beyond.

The production of the season’s upcoming episodes marks ION Television’s first venture into originals planned by the network in the coming year.

“After the success we have had with procedural dramas, we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to air original episodes of ‘Flashpoint.’ It’s a perfect fit for ION Television.” says Burgess. “This is the first step in our commitment to expand original programming over the coming 12-24 months in scripted and unscripted entertainment.”

“We’ve been extremely lucky to have wonderful broadcast partners in CBS and CBS Studios for several years. We now look forward to working with the committed team at ION,” said Anne Marie La Traverse and Bill Mustos, executive producers of “Flashpoint.”

“Flashpoint” joins ION Television’s primetime line-up of hit off-net series such as “Criminal Minds” and “Without a Trace,” and its blockbuster theatricals, which have driven record ratings for the network. In 2010, ION Television experienced tremendous year-over-year gains in its key demos, becoming its most watched year ever and making ION the only network to register a record double-digit growth for three consecutive years.

Starring Hugh Dillon (Durham County), Enrico Colantoni (Veronica Mars), Amy Jo Johnson (Felicity) and David Paetkau (Whistler), the nail-biting cop drama is an emotional journey into the tough, risk-filled lives of a group of police in the Strategic Response Unit (inspired by Toronto's Emergency Task Force). Members of a highly-skilled tactical team, they're trained in negotiating, profiling and getting inside the subject's head to understand the emotional breaking point (the "flashpoint") that triggered the crisis.

“Flashpoint” is produced by Pink Sky Entertainment and Avamar Entertainment in association with CTV and CBS. Executive producers are Anne Marie La Traverse and Bill Mustos. Creators are Mark Ellis and Stephanie Morgenstern. David Frazee is Series Consultant.

So does this mean that CBS is giving up airing Flashpoint altogether?

ION surpassed The CW in Week 25 in households and P2+, while tying The CW in A18-49 demographic:

Week 25:
ION 0.9HH/2%, 0.4 A18-49, 1,320,000 P2+
CW 0.7HH/1%, 0.4 A18-49, 1,090,000 P2+

A good showing for a network with half the affiliates and no original programming vs. The CW's 2 hours/week.

Maybe CW should just become a programming service...

Btw, if ION wants(and they should) add some shows how about The Odd Couple, Mama's Family, Dick Van Dyke Show. There problem solved. I mean ION should at least try to get some new shows.
