There's a whole thread over at Shout Factory's community board with people voicing their enthusiam (not just for a Season 2 release but) for a Complete Series set like the one they did for "Leave It To Beaver". Not sure how much more proof they need that there is a market out there for the series. Kasey 09-19-2010, 01:04 PM Brian Ward just stated that while Shout! is aware of consumer interest in "Hazel", the studio isn't willing to give it up just yet. I find this strange, that they would let shows that have a bigger fanbase and better sales potential (Facts of Life, All in the Family) be licensed, yet they let "Hazel" rot in the vaults. Perhaps they plan on making it available as a MOD release in the future. Sony recently made 100 Classic Films in their library available for MOD consumption in a new program they just began. Yes, I found this rather odd too. But you may recall that Brian said the same thing about "Facts Of Life". He said the studio wasn't ready to let it go. Then, months later, it was announced on their schedule. So, who knows? Shout seems interested. MichaelKeith 09-20-2010, 02:56 PM At least Brian Ward is aware of the fan interest in Hazel. He seems to be a good advocate for classic tv on dvd. I just hope Shout! Factory is ultimately able to put at least season 2 and maybe the rest of Hazel onto DVD! But we all need to continue to prompt them to do so! |
