Welcome to a special Labor Day edition of television VS when everyone in the forums can vote on who have the best television season from different networks and years. Before I start I was able to get the abc 1996 campaign video off of youtube. But there didnt have the schedule with it. The only show I liked on CBS during this time was Murphy Brown. So ABC definitely gets my vote.

I vote for ABC 1996.

They had AFV, Home Improvement, Family Matters, Boy Meets World and the other TGIF shows. Why isn't Step by Step listed, though?

I vote for ABC 1996.

They had AFV, Home Improvement, Family Matters, Boy Meets World and the other TGIF shows. Why isn't Step by Step listed, though?

Because Step by Step was only gonna be used as a midseason replacement. It showed up in the spring on 1997 with a new look and some other changes. The theme song was gone and the transitional music was replaced with brief rock and roll intstrumentals. The youngest daughter went from age 1 to age six. ABC canceled the show and then it went to CBS and the theme song was added back to the opening then CBS canceled the show four months later but then aired some leftover eps during the summer.

Hmmmm....

ABC had some watchable shows but at the same time a chunk of their existing shows were on the verge of getting canned at the end of this season.

Step by Step, Family Matters, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, Coach, Roseanne, and Lois and Clark: The New Superman Adventures were all getting the axe.

Though when CBS picked up FM and SbS the following season, CBS treated them no better and Cooper was the only TGiF show not to go to CBS.

CBS were slowly trying to and started to get a few better new shows during NBC's brief dry spell period of that time.

CBS 1993. ABC had a lot of good shows, but I watched a lot of CBS around that time growing up, so CBS gets my vote purely because of childhood nostalgia.
