Marvo301 09-04-2010, 02:20 AM The WalMart in my town used to be a good place to shop for DVD's but not any more. The DVD"s are now in 3 or 4 different places so it's hard to find a specific show when your looking for it. Also their selection just isn't as good as it used to be.
MikeLutton 09-04-2010, 02:23 AM they had A team season one out without the normal A Team box set covor just disk covor out themselves and lost ncis golden girls season 3 star trek nothing good surly disappointed not mention i walked round with a sore ankel n can barley get around only one lady was a help nobody else.
catlover79 09-04-2010, 03:12 AM I agree. Wal Mart used to have a great TV on DVD selection. Now - forget it!!

icecream 09-04-2010, 07:45 PM I've got a few good deals at Walmart. On two separate vacations I got the 2nd season of Gilligan's Island and the 1st season of Charlie's Angels for $13.99. And I got the 1st season of The Cosby Show for my grandparents at $19.99.
MikeLutton 09-04-2010, 08:17 PM that sounds like a good price yours must be differnt then mine
browneyes106 09-07-2010, 07:59 PM The Wal-Marts in my area have never had great DVD sections. Usually the Target stores have the best selection.
MikeLutton 09-07-2010, 11:30 PM never been to target store not one around here in other areas though do they got lot of dvds there
browneyes106 09-09-2010, 11:50 AM never been to target store not one around here in other areas though do they got lot of dvds there
The Target stores in my area tend to have large TV on DVD sections. They have had large sections since around 2003 or 2004 when TV on DVD started to get popular with consumers. The Wal-Mart stores in my area have small sections and their selections tend to be family friendly TV shows and the usual subpar network procedural dramas. They rarely stock cable shows or critically acclaimed type shows.
cajunhillbilly 09-09-2010, 02:23 PM a few months back the Walmart near me had two season packs of JAG for around $25 for the two seasons. That came to $12 something per season. I bought season 3 and 4 (I already had the first 2 seasons). When I went back to get season 5 and 6 they had sent the twopacks back to the warehouse. I wanted to get season 5 and 6 and season 7 and 8 at that special price, but they have not restocked them since. And no other Walmart has carried the twopacks. Hopefully around Christmas time they will be back.
browneyes106 09-09-2010, 06:50 PM ^The only time period when Wal-Mart has a great selection of TV shows DVD's is in during the holidays.
TVFactFan 09-09-2010, 09:38 PM Confused as to why the OP would go to Walmart to buy DVDs and not ebay or amazon
MikeLutton 09-09-2010, 10:52 PM my mom works at walmart i had a Gift card ready was soo excited they had a great edition of classic tv dvds, for sale at a good price but then they was all gone.i was so upset.they was gone entire sections changed n switched around but all classics was gone i was like wow
McGillicuddy 09-10-2010, 09:04 AM They seem to have cut way back on TV shows on dvd. For a while it was like striking gold with those 2-season packs, but lately thats hit-or-miss.
tvfan25 09-10-2010, 10:06 AM My local Wal-Mart sucks. It's not even a Super one yet. I go out of town to other Wal-Marts. You might try going to Sam's Wholesale Club, Circuit City or F.Y.E., especially F.Y.E. They have a bunch of shows on DVD and they're all alphebetized too. I've got all of "Friends" and I need one more season of "Golden Girls". Love that show! I did find at Wal-Mart a double set of "Green Acres" and "Addams Family" season 1 of both of them. What I really want are sets of "Pacific Blue". It was a cop show on USA network starring Mario Lopez.
TVFactFan 09-10-2010, 11:20 PM Getting mad that I can't find a DVD in Walmart is like being missed I can't find cereal in a shoe store

Same with my local Walmart. Me I never can find the movies that I'm looking for at Walmart. Never have that problem at Best Buy. So Best Buy is where I go to find the DVD I want now. Barns & Nobles has got a good DVD selection too. Thoe Barns & Nobles priceses are a bit on the high side.

Silly Lily 09-15-2010, 06:53 PM Why don't you just use the free site-to-store shipping option on the Wal-Mart website and order what you want?
spunkygirl 09-15-2010, 08:49 PM I get new TV DVD's at Target, their prices are awesome! I got Big Bang Theory Seasons 1 and 2 for less than $15 each and the first two seasons of Bones for $32 for both sets(season sets can run about $45 a set). My local Target thought doesn't have alot of TV DVD's other than what's currently on sale
Ron Ron 09-15-2010, 09:35 PM Why don't you just use the free site-to-store shipping option on the Wal-Mart website and order what you want?
That's what I have done lately. The prices are so much cheaper online than at the stores too.
MikeLutton 09-16-2010, 02:11 PM ido that at times to but i got to ask mom first before using her money lol and card is fun see classic tv dvd tv shows at local stores out of nowhere
broadmoor 10-05-2010, 03:43 PM I went to Wal-Mart today, looking for the release of the new "Gunsmoke" set, but no luck. This is about the fifth time in row I've gone there for a recent dvd-set to find they aren't carrying it. They used to be pretty good about offering CBS/Paramount releases. I had bought all the previous "Gunsmoke" volumes there. But going there now seems to be a waste of time, to put it mildly. Their tv-dvd selection is miserable.
Just as bad, I then drove further, to the Best Buy store, and they didn't have the new "Gunsmoke" set either. It's amazing how bad their selection has gotten, as well. It's almost as if they'd purged just about anything remotely 'vintage' off their shelves. I must assume they just don't want any customers older than the age of 35 inside their store. Which will include me, so don't worry, I won't be back anytime soon. I guess I'm just going to have to resort to mail-order from now on it seems. And I hate that, because so often I've had items arrive in the mail badly damaged.
MikeLutton 10-05-2010, 05:20 PM or shop at goodwill they usally got small good dvds at their store or the mall never know what they got there.i dont blame you about walmart they had
All in the family s1 i believe for 13 bucks then at the shelf with the rest for them for 33 bucks same show they make no sense
spence5214 10-06-2010, 08:03 AM I hate everything all about that.
