Marty McFly’s self-lacing sneakers and Nike’s self-lacing sneaker patent are hot topics in the tech circles right now. Remember the year 2015 when Marty McFly (Michael J Fox) was in Back to the Future and he had self lacing sneakers? Well, Nike recently filed a patent for similar shoes! Kind of eerie, isn’t it to think that in 2015 self lacing sneakers may come to market?
Well, there is another person behind the shoe. Wired Labs discusses Blake Bevin, an inventor that had the McFLy 1.0 and the McFly 2.0. They venture to contemplate how Nike’s recent patent may affect Bevin’s shoes – plus mention that because of prior art, the patent itself may be invalid.
Still yet, it’s hard to get over the prospect of never having to tie your shoes again. Check out the video below of the idea of self lacing sneakers like Marty McFly’s. What do you think? Would you buy a pair?
