But when the series moved into the 1970's,was there any music in the 1970's episodes?

Mickey Dolenz played an old family friend who was a rock and roll singer in one episode. And Katie sang in a nightclub in another episode after Robbie left for South America.

Uncle Charley's string quartet performed in early 1970 (Season 10, "Charley's Cello").

Let's have a look at some music superstars who appeared on the series. First up, beautiful Jackie DeShannon:

Next, Jeremy Clyde of "Chad & Jeremy"

Jaye P. Morgan guest-starred in an ep, alongside Robbie and "The Greefs"

And Micky Dolenz of "The Monkees" did indeed appear late in the series, as Old Grouch pointed out:

Jaye P. was also in one of the b/w episodes as a night club singer Steve bumps into in the park one night. Wish I could bump into Jaye in a park.

Thanks for the additional info on Jaye P. Morgan.

I neglected to include Jan Clayton, noted broadway singer, who appeared in a color episode in which she wants to marry Charley and travel the world. Jan is well-remembered for her work on the earliest Lassie TV seasons, as Jeff's mom Ellen Miller. Here's a look at Jan from early in her career:
