Sure, he was cold hearted and abrasive. Deep down though, I felt sorry for Louie. He took care of his elderly mother and basically had no one in his life. Zena his true love moved on from him and he was so insecure.

Nope, he was a cruel little toad who delighted in other people's misery. He did seem to love his mother, but on balance he did a lot of terrible things, any one of which would have deserved a thorough beating by one of the guys.

I did feel a little sorry for Louie. I think all of his bad behavior was an outward sign of some inward problems. Problems that made it difficult if not impossible to have any real friends or a proper relationship with a member of the fairer sex. I think Louie was in denial about these problems to the point that he convinced himself that he was normal and it was the rest of the world that was screwed up.
