....which one would it be? It could be the funniest, the most dramatic, the best overall episode...

Maybe the two parter where the squadroom is under siege from a Hassidic order of Jewish clergymen, I always liked that one. Or "Fog" where Barney is turned down once again for Sergeant. Or the one where Nick makes the brownies laced with hashish. Argh, I wanna watch BM now! :)

"The Hero" - the season 1 finale, when Chano is forced to shoot two bank robbers holding hostages. Gregory Sierra at his finest. This is THE definitive Chano episode.

I just knew that you would pick that one. ;) It is a really good episode. I'm having a hard time picking just one myself.

Wasn't Wojo's girlfriend the one who baked the hash brownies? The Hassidic Jewish clergy episode is pretty funny, especially when we hear Luger over a bullhorn: "Why don't all of youse go get a shave?" The next minute, he's back in the squadroom with his jacket torn to shreds. Like I've said before, Luger will never win any sensitivity or PC awards.

I love Luger! And I love James Gregory! What a perfect match of character and actor!

Thankfully, from everything I've read, James Gregory was absolutely nothing like Luger in real life. I just lose it every time Luger says, "Poppycock, Bah-ney!!!"

Yep, I think that's right about Wojo's g/f and the brownies. And yeah, that line about 'getting a shave' absolutely slays me.

Another one of Lugar's great lines comes when he is talking with the ventriloquist guy who's become a bit unhinged, and after the dummy insults Lugar, Lugar turns to someone (can't recall who) and says "snotty little knothole, isn't he?"

His delivery was absolutely priceless. James Gregory had impeccable comedic timing!

Hard to go with just one, but if I had to I'd go with the pot episode from Season 3

I think that would be the most popular choice. "Let's go down to the beach and shoot some clams."
