"Grey's Anatomy" fans rejoice!

After weeks of being tortured by the news there would be a major wedding in the upcoming season premiere by gossip columnists Michael Ausiello and Kristin Dos Santos, ABC has finally allowed them to release the names of the two persons in question.





Spoilers coming up! You've been warned!



















The confirmation hit the web at exactly noon ET today:
Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) are walking down the aisle in the Sept. 23 premiere!





But why are they getting married? And why so soon, especially since they aren't engaged?


Series creator Shonda Rhimes told 'Entertainment Weekly's' Michael Ausiello that the upcoming season's theme will be "rebirth" and that the characters are coming out of a very dark place (the season finale massacre), so having Cristina and Owen get married brings hope







Kevin McKidd told TV Guide that Owen's proposal will be unexpected and quite a shocker. It will be featured as a flashback in the season premiere.

He also admits that questions such as "Did they rush into it?" or "Did they do it for the wrong reasons?" will be asked.
