Saturday mornings sure have changed! And not for the better either! It's a shame what few decent viewing choices the kids of today have.

that is true. when you compare the table of 2010 to the years when we had cartoons on saturday mornings and weekday afternoons, you can tell many of those shows are live- action based.

it's sad and unfortunate what has become of kids TV nowadays.

It was because of Cable and DVD's, but few still don't have access to these and SatAM Cartoons to me is VERY American.

Luckily, I'm a Gen Y and we've got to see the best of it. And my favorite SatAM Cartoon will always be..."Garfield and Friends"!

i think the following are accountable for what has happened to saturday morning cartoons or be it cartoons in general:

- kids cartoons today don't have the appeal of the golden oldies from the 40s- late 90s

- reality TV- not just on prime time schedules but it is now a part of the likes of cartoon network. reality killed the sitcom and now the same with cartoons

- networks prefer making and showing adult-based animated shows like the simpsons, family guy, american dad, king of the hill over kids cartoons. i think their priorities are wrong.

- the nanny state watchdog groups, who instead of getting to the route of society's problems, they stick their noses and put the blame on cartoons on those problems that are happening. what with their legislation in the early 90s about the content of kids show that were enforced.

i know people have blamed the internet also, but really the likes of you tube and the people who post the videos of the shows on there are providing us with something we have missed in this generation and decade.

the internet is doing what 90% of TV networks are not doing themselves and with that we get to watch these cartoons as and when we like.
