The Sherwood idea was called "Kelly's Kids" a spinoff of sorts to the Brady Bunch. It starred Ken Berry as an adoptive father of three diverse boys (white, black and Asian). The pilot failed to interest ABC.

Do you think NBC took the idea from Sherwood and ran with it?

i dont think they really ripped it off but it is interesting to note that howard leeds worked as a writer on both shows
