Back in 1980, there was an actors strike and a musicians strike. Producers of WKRP ordered all actors back to taping, but Howard Hesseman was refusing to cross the picket line. Because of this according to Hesseman, if he didn't return to work, he would be written off! WTF? I guess we know what decision the good Doctor made. LOL

I'm glad everything worked out, because I for one can't imagine WKRP without Dr. Johnny Fever - and NO ONE else could play him but Howard Hesseman!!

^Agreed. We certainly wouldn't have wanted the DJ who briefly replaced the Doctor in the two-parter where he left for California.

The guy who was accepting payola and coke?? I don't think so!  Though we wouldn't have gotten that classic joke where the Big Guy thinks that the coke is really foot powder.

Yeah I can't see watching the show without Dr. Johnny on it. :)
