Pravat was paroled in 1991 but was returned to prison after murdering his girlfriend and was placed on death row for the second time in North Carolina.

William Jordan was sentenced to death with Pravat but was overturned to life without parole, however he was eventually moved to a minimum security prison in 1984 in Odum, Georgia and escaped.

It wasn't actually life without parole they were sentenced to. Georgia law at the time did not have life without parole. Their sentences were commuted to 7 years to life, which at that time if one did not get the death penalty for first degree murder in Georgia, than the only other penalty was life in prison which at that time meant parole eligibility in 7 years.

Ted Prevatte was paroled from prison in Georgia in 1991 after serving 17 years in Georgia. Prevatte returned to his home state of North Carolina and in 1993 was arrested there and charged with first degree murder for murdering his girlfriend. In 1995, Prevatte was sentenced to death and remains on North Carolina's death row. Prevatte was released on parole from the Georgia Department of Corrections on October 18th, 1991 and was released on parole to his home state of North Carolina. Evidently Prevatte moved in with his mother and joined a church and participated heavily in church activities including the choir. Other members of the Church were aware that he was a convicted murderer but evidently felt he had turned his life around.

About 6 months after his release, Prevatte began an affair with a married woman, 12 years his junior. She had two children and her and her husband were separated. Well after about a year of being together, the woman decided to try to reconcile with her husband and Prevatte couldn't take it and told her, if he couldn't have her, no one else was going to either. The murder occurred on June 1st, 1993 when Prevatte under the guise of arriving at the victims house to give a gift to her son, the son than her hid mother exclaim 'oh my God' and then heard a series of gun shots. His mother was shot three times in the chest at point blank range.

The prison that Prevatte was released from in 1991, the Augusta State Medical Prison in Grovetown, Georgia is a close security facility. Most of the inmates there are inmates that either have serious medical and/or mental health problems. The prison opened in 1983 and Prevatte was at that prison from 1983 until his release in 1991.

The guy who escaped William 'Junior' Jordan, escaped from Wayne State Prison in Odom, Georgia. That is the same prison John Mooney escaped from in 1980. Wayne State Prison was closed in 2008. However Jordan escaped on August 6th, 1984 and remains on the run. Can't believe that Jordan is still on the run.

Odds are highly likely that he is already deceased. An excon in his 70s that can't get any SS checks.
